What’s the difference between an apple and an orange?
Didn’t feel anti-climatic to me tbh. Might have done if it had been a tight race to the finish with ups and downs but it was done by January. So the enjoyment was more the exceptional football as opposed the couple of key moments or key wins.
Shame there couldn’t have been a big celebration but bigger priorities in the world right now.
This season has been an absolute f’ing shiiit show though. Outrageously poor.

Well that’s fair enough. A few Liverpool fans I know in real life found it very anti-climatic.
Yes tbh I’m very surprised by it all. Even with the injuries I didn’t think it would get this bad.
When you got the late winner vs Spurs and hammered Palace 7-0 I thought here we bloody go again but since then it’s been a sh*tshow. It’s like something happened that day vs West Brom.

I thought you'd run away with it before the season started, but that was without prior knowledge of your injury problems etc. I think you could have dealt with it better but you seem to have got into a rut, and it can be tough mentally to get out of that. You've also played better in some games than the end result has suggested.
For all that, I do think you'll be right back in contention again next season after a proper summer break and hopefully a less condensed season. Hope I'm wrong though!

I’ve never known a league win as an adult other than this one so it might be that I don’t know what I’m missing! Last time before last season, I was 14 - wasn’t a massive party
I’ve only known CL as an adult supporter but I think cup competitions are more exciting for the moments anyway. League are more satisfying than exciting with a few notable exceptions.
I’ve said this a few times on here but I think much as the problem was playing without pressure of competition. From Jan until Oct last year we had not real pressure, the league was done and at the start of this year all our rivals were struggling. We just meandered along. When the pressure of competition returned we’ve completely floundered. It’s just not something that can be switched back on imo. That said, this slump has been longer and more dramatic than I ever thought likely. It’s as if I’m watching a different team.

I think the thing about taking the foot off the gas and struggling to rediscover form is a fair one. We won three titles in a row at the turn of the century and had the last one pretty much done in February after beating our nearest challengers 6-1. We wrapped the league up and showed patchy form for the remainder of the season. The following year Arsenal won the double and United didn't get going til the last few months of the season. Even you boys finished above us that year, which just didn't happen during that period!
If it makes Liverpool fans feel any better and gives a bit of perspective, I was looking at the lower leagues. You have to feel for poor Barrow fans. Not been in the football league since the 70s, back this season and looking like going back down to the National League again. Can you imagine how awful that must be for their poor fans who don't even get to see them play in the league, particularly the older ones who've waited that length of time?

Its a lot simpler than that. Liverpool, to their credit, simply took advantage of the fact no other team was particularly interested in what was the least competitive season I've ever witnessed.

Its a lot simpler than that. Liverpool, to their credit, simply took advantage of the fact no other team was particularly interested in what was the least competitive season I've ever witnessed.
