Just what papers are saying today.

Can you recall a more spectacular title collapse?

Chelsea had a pretty bad title collapse under Ancelotti iirc.

2010/11 we stormed through autumn then finished second behind United. Harsh sacking

It's probably a very varied question that one. Someone might be 4 points clear in September then finish in the bottom 10.

The old biggest lead lost one is easier to do. I know we (Arsenal) lost a big lead to United during the early Wenger years, maybe even the season they won the treble?

Newcastle also had that famous bottle job under Keegan. No doubt there's plenty more!

Sorry realised it was us who usurped United in the early Wenger years. Probably 1998. Then later on it happened to us but no idea what year

Similar to Liverpool tbh Won the league the previous season and started off as favourites. Were comfortably in 1st place until we lost key players to injuries and then went through a couple of months where we could barely win a game and went into freefall. We turned things around that season eventually though, dunno whether Liverpool will do the same.

Yes may well have been. Remember the club getting slated for it so thought it must have been a pretty big bottle job

Think we had a ten point swing with United in 2 months but not 20. And did not lose 4 in a row like LFC

And did not win league the previous season by 20 points

Apart from that you are completely right

23 point swing now in less than 2 months

Lol casually not mentioning that the worst title defence in history was actually mourinho and chelssa

Liverpool finished 18 points ahead of City last season.

City are currently 19 points ahead of Liverpool.

Title collapse is different from title defence

posted on 23/2/21

How so? You either have the title and collapse or you don’t.

posted on 23/2/21

Also as much as it pains me to say it but Atleast Liverpool have excuses

Title defence is referring to winning the title one year and then how close you come to winning it next year

Title collapse is about being in pole position to win the title in a given year and failing to win it from that position.

posted on 23/2/21

All semantics. Both are title defences.
You can’t really have a title collapse unless you have the title. Man City were made favourites as soon as van dijk got injured

No they’re two different things, I was nice enough to explain the difference when I could have just laughed and called you an idiot.

You’re an idiot

Coming from you that’s a compliment. You’re regarded as the biggest baby on this site. So thank you. If we’re not on the same wave length I’m doing something right

Maddest collapse in footy history, although not champions, was derby, top of the championship since September, 13 games left, and didn’t even make the playoffs
