Really don't get why the people on one particular side of this argument have to talk in such ridiculous extremes.
My view on this has always been that Ole is the man to get us to base camp (and that was very much needed given the state of the squad when he took over), but probably not the man to take us to the top of the mountain.
He's done the first part, and should be commended on that. His three experienced predecessors failed at that. He's earned his crack at the second part, though personally I think we'll plateau off a bit from here - and there probably will then be a decision to make in the next 12-18 months.
For airing that view above on this site I've been called both an 'Ole cultist' and whatever the opposite is (Olephobic is the term i think we're going for now?).
Everything is black or everything is white. The lack of any kind of objectivity on this place really is facking mental sometimes.

Really don't get why the people on one particular side of this argument have to talk in such ridiculous extremes.
My view on this has always been that Ole is the man to get us to base camp (and that was very much needed given the state of the squad when he took over), but probably not the man to take us to the top of the mountain.
He's done the first part, and should be commended on that. His three experienced predecessors failed at that. He's earned his crack at the second part, though personally I think we'll plateau off a bit from here - and there probably will then be a decision to make in the next 12-18 months.
For airing that view above on this site I've been called both an 'Ole cultist' and whatever the opposite is (Olephobic is the term i think we're going for now?).
Everything is black or everything is white. The lack of any kind of objectivity on this place really is facking mental sometimes.
