Thank you Mr Don. I’m a long time JA606 reader. I find once I’ve finished work, normally very late at night/morning (NHS shift work) I like to unwind and buzz reading about football banter on this site, you included fella. I’ve noticed that there is not that many City fans on here so I only log on when I feel my fellow blues need to believe as other posters give it large! So City for all four trophies available, just like our manager PEP wants!

I think Ole is doing a decent to good job, nothing more. I wouldn’t say I am Ole in or Ole out, but I do have worries, Namely:
1) We don’t have the players to play out from the back, no matter what combination of players he plays there we just don’t have the ability in our squad to play that way and any team who presses us has success. Yet we try it game after game. This is also on the midfield btw as I don’t think they give the defence enough options.
2) Playing 2 defensive minded midfielders against ‘lesser’ teams when we know they are going to sit in and allow us the ball
3) Not going for the win against the ‘big’ sides. Some of the so called big games this year have been horrible to watch but in games like both Arsenal games, the Liverpool game and the Chelsea game, even the city game to an extent, you got the feeling it was there for the taking if we took a few more risks, but we seemed happy with a draw (and ended up losing against Arsenal)
4) The Maguire/Lindeloff partnership. This is a difficult one for me as I see why he does it (Worked ok last season, Bailly injury prone, Tuanzebe not looking good enough etc...), but they have made so so many mistakes this year it’s hard to watch so often.
5) How poor some of our players are at the basics, I know this isn’t quite in the same nature as the other points, but players like James, Fred, Martial etc...literally at times seem incapable of controlling a ball or playing a 5 yard pass, what are we actually working on in training? These are supposed to be professional top level players. I know players are never perfect but It happens way too often.
6) DDG/Henderson. Now personally I think he’s doing right thing here but I know a lot on here disagree so I thought I’d put it in.
7) How 2 1/2 years in we still only seem to have one way of playing and when teams sit in we still struggle to break them down. Bruno has helped but it’s more his individual ability a lot of the time rather than Ole and his coaching staff working out a new way to play to counter it. Again, what do we work at in training?

As I said I think Ole is doing ok, and there are positives too of course and I would have taken second this year as am sure we all would, but I think the frustration for a lot of people is that feeling that even tho we didn’t expect it, is this season actually going to be a chance missed? Let’s be honest, everyone else is awful this year, City apart and they were poor at the start too. We got ourselves into a great position and had a favourable run of games and while we all still said City would win it, we blew any chance of making it any way interesting with a poor run of form agains poor sides. At the very least we could have had second pretty secure. Now we face a tough run of games and could be battling for top 4 in a couple of weeks.
