Plus ever single team gets injuries and lots of them
I'd say in our case, having your three main centre backs injured, plus two midfielders covering at centre back injured, plus even an emergency signing picking up a knock, is pretty bad luck and has had a huge effect on the balance of our team.

But what about the wind and the length of grass?
But for the previous 2 seasons people had said one of the reasons for Liverpools success was because they had been lucky not losing key players with injuries?

Didn't Liverpool have a lot of knee inuries a few years ago which was blamed on training regimes?

There has obviously been an element of bad luck, in particular VVD, but has it not also been bad planning? You signed two injury prone players as back up/challenging for a start (Fabinho and Matip) and they have been injured a lot since signing as well, yet you didn’t cut your loses or sign other players. You have also known about this ‘crises’ for months and had a full transfer window to address it but instead signed two unproven CB and continued to play your most important midfielder CB, who then got injured at the weekend. In my opinion Liverpool have been to an extent unlucky, however they have been incredibly lucky for the last few seasons in terms of injuries to major players and it lulled them into a false sense of security where they thought they could get away with injury prone back ups and didn’t plan for worst case scenario.

Last year, City losing Laporte was a justifiable reason for not winning the title. Pretty much everyone acknowledged it.
But Liverpool losing Van Dijk, Gomez and Matip are just excuses.
The difference in the media has been unbelievable.
If you listen to the media you'll find that players are usually always out for longer than anticipated. I believe it was once rumoured a couple of weeks ago that Jota was close to being back in the squad again but then about a day later he was out for at least another 3/4 weeks. So I can't imagine that players are rushed back anytime soon.
Liverpool do have a large squad in terms of seasoned professional, it's just that a lot of them are/have missed parts of the season (if not all season) through injuries, anybody would struggle. You can only have 25 players registered, so if you have 10 injuries at one time, you're going to struggle.
Perhaps Liverpool should delve into their academy like many other clubs do. If they aren't good enough then that is their own fault. Deal with it and stop whining

Curtis Jones, Rhys Williams, Neco Williams, Nat Phillips, Kelleher. Plus a host of other youngsters who have been involved in the matchday squads so far as well.
It's not necessarily true about them not being good enough being just the clubs' fault either.

Well it is. Most of them players you have mentioned are crap. If you fall apart because you have 3 CBs inhured then its your own fault. Deal with it
What also gas never been discussed as we don't bang on about it every 5 minutes is last season Man Utd had 4 senior CBs out for most of the season. 4 of our senior CBs played a combined 14 league games last season which is less than Matip, VVD and Gomez have played this season
I'm not saying they are up to the standard required, although you said they should delve into their academy, which has happened.
And no, it's not just the clubs' fault if the players aren't good enough. And it's also not just the clubs' fault because 3 CB's all got injured. It is the clubs' fault for selling Lovren, but looking at the amount of injuries I'm not even sure how much of a difference he would have made anyway.

No you're right but all you do hear about how it is Liverpool's fault for all of the CB injuries sustained this season but it's just bad luck for Man City and Man United. You can't have it both ways.
It is bad luck.
We’ve had a few years of numerous Liverpool fans on here claiming their club had a world class transfer strategy of signing un-injurable demi gods and that their sports science department were capable of alchemy on the physio table.
So not sure how that could have all fallen to 5hit this season were bad luck not involved.

Did you mean to say Gomez rather than Fabinho because Fabinho had played 110 games in just over two and a half seasons.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure where your getting yours stats but the ones I seen have him playing 74 games in his Liverpool career, as you say it’s 2 1/2 seasons so with Liverpool league games and going deep in champions league your talking not far off 60 a season, so approx 150 in 2 1/2 seasons. That’s only 50% of games.

Comparing Phil Jones and Tuanzebe to VvD, Gomez and Matip. You first choice CB's played 47 and 55 games last season.

Who is comparing them as players. Fact is we had 4 senior CBs out nearly all season. You have had 3 out and cried all season
