It doesn't matter if it isn't viewed as a serious trophy and even that is up for debate because it depends what you class as a "serious" trophy.
You may not celebrate it as an Arsenal fan, possibly because of your previous European record of being CL regulars and more EL regulars now but reaching the latter stages, but for somebody such as West Ham, for example, who haven't had that luxury for years, it represents a great opportunity for them to build a bigger reputation in Europe, it also offers them another route to the EL rather than just domestically and then potentially further.
One team's loss is another team's gain.
I would take Europa Conference glory, tbh. Same as I would love a League Cup. It is more about the journey - if it means over-playing first team players and thus hindering league performances, then it would be problematic. But the truth is we could go far playing reserves and youth. The Europa has allowed us to blood kids and it is beginning to pay off with stars like Saka and ESR coming through, and hopefully a few more £££s made from the likes of Willock, AMN, Nketiah and Nelson through the exposure if they are deemed available.

I think this is a fair argument and I can't really disagree with this. However, should there be any big names that enter this competition, I do maintain it'll be looked on with scorn and derision, especially from supporters of those clubs.
In our (hypothetical) case, whilst some fans like D'J may be willing to accept it (and his reasons are fair enough too), there are many who feel like we shouldn't even be competing in a competition like that anyway and a club of our stature should be competing in a better European competition.
I just had a look and the 2022 final is being played in Tirana, Albania, with a stadium capacity of 25,000. Hardly an inspiration venue.

Every team has been in that position of not wanting to be in the EL or EL2 or whatever it's called.
I take Leicester this year, desperate to get in the CL yet don't make a go of it in the EL and lose at home to some no marks when you consider who they could be playing next year. Villa used to do that as well, work all season to get in the top 6 under O'Neill then play his youth side in all the Uefa Cup matches!

I actually think it's a cool idea for teams from less flashy leagues (or less flashy clubs from the top leagues) to have a European competition. Is it prestigious? Of course it isn't, but that's not the point of it.
To make this work well with the other two European competitions I think they need to:
1. Stop parachuting clubs down to lower European tournaments (but keep winner moves up idea).
2. Turn the Europa League back to a straight up knock out comp.
3. Use the new third tier comp to cut out the number of qualifiers i.e. you came runner up of the League Cup you get tier 3 rather than a chance of qualifying for tier 2.
Ive done some reading on this and its actually going to streamline the europa by reducing it to 8 groups instead of 12. Also if u win your group you go straight to last 16, instead of the last 32 today. But teams can still dropdown from CL

Point 3 has pretty much happened to the Europa.
Don't think 1 and 2 would happen. The parachuting down is to help minnow clubs who are not expected to progress. Stopping the parachuting would mean it would become more beneficial for clubs in lesser leagues to not win their domestic title.

I can accept Point two not happening if there are fewer groups but on point 1 I don't agree. Surely winning a domestic title is reward enough? You then get a further reward of being able to play a minimum of three games in the best competition you can qualify for (and more money).
Worst-case scenario now for @DundalkFC is they lose their play-off and drop into the Europa League group stages with minimum €2.4m windfall.
— #repealthe8th (@KevBeirne) August 2, 2016
Dundalk entering the Champions League qualifying round gives them a greater windfall than if they had won the league.
.@DundalkFC will get more prize money for a draw in the Europa League (€120k) than if they won their third league title in a row (€110k).
Any sort of run in Europe is massive for "minnows", a first round CL qualifier and defeat and total elimination obviously takes this away.
Obviously group stage drop-outs is a bit different, as it often benefits big clubs who failed - these I think are the problem.

That's fair and I get that the money would need to be carefully allocated. I was definitely referring to group drop-outs rather than initial playoffs - basically once the competition starts (from round 1), you should stay in that comp or crash out.
Hang on! Does this mean that if by some miracle we end up beating Man City in the EFL final, we'll only get a place in this shiiiity Conference thing? WTF?
Yes, unless you finish top 5 (or 6 if FA Cup winners finish top 5).
That's not good. For us and for your club, Arsenal. I can't see either making top 5 or 6. I think Chelsea and Liverpool will both overhaul Leicester and West Ham and take the top 4, leaving, at best, two positions for anyone looking to qualify for the EL. That requires Leicester, West Ham and Everton to all fall away for us to have a chance. They're not all going to stumble.
Doesn't much matter what we think. Won't be winning the League Cup ( City will pass us into submission, whilst sending the viewers to sleep ) and won't be finishing in the top 6,7 or 8 for that matter.
Sorry to be negative, but that's the reality of things with Spurs right now.
Bring back the European competitions as they ere in the 70s and 80s
European Cup - Champions Only
UEFA Cup
Cup Winners Cup
Once you are eliminated from a European competition you stay eliminated. None of this have another go in a lesser competition you probably didnt want to be in anyway

If it's another chance to win a trophy then why not
------
Because it won't be viewed as a 'serious' trophy. As the OP says, the Europa League gets mocked enough as it is, so imagine what a 3rd tier European competition will be treated like. It's essentially a rebranded Intertoto cup.
It may be great for some clubs, but if there's any traditionally big names that enter the competition, there will be more ridicule than satisfaction at them winning the tournament.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It doesn't matter if it isn't viewed as a serious trophy and even that is up for debate because it depends what you class as a "serious" trophy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think this is a fair argument and I can't really disagree with this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Like any competition, you're rewarded for your performance, not your reputation. If Europe's 3rd competition is Arsenal's level, then so be it, that's where you ultimately deserve to be for that season.

The likelihood is we won't qualify for it anyway

Every team has been in that position of not wanting to be in the EL or EL2 or whatever it's called.
I take Leicester this year, desperate to get in the CL yet don't make a go of it in the EL and lose at home to some no marks when you consider who they could be playing next year. Villa used to do that as well, work all season to get in the top 6 under O'Neill then play his youth side in all the Uefa Cup matches!

Gives Liverpool a great chance to do the European treble (or quadruple)
Champions League
Europa League
Euro Conference League
Unprecedented.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool have never won the Europa League
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah, my apologies. I forgot a name change means a team has never won anything. Technically England have never won the World Cup because it was the Jules Rimet trophy
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have never won it without match fixing
