He has been good, throughout his career his good form at club level has only coincided when playing in a back three. It suits him, arguably offers him a bit more protection but that’s true of anyone.
When Silva comes back I think it’s good AC has come into form. Silva under Lampard was basically starting every match which I don’t think is the best approach with his age (although Lampard didn’t have much other choice). A fantastic player but should be used sparingly, not 2-3x/week especially in pandemic season.
So I don’t mind rotating AC and Silva as season goes on.
AC could also play in place of either Azpi or Rudi. I’d prefer in place of Azpi if we had to buy Azpi and Rudi also have been just nearly just as good as AC so would be equally harsh to drop them.

We seem to have been waiting a long time for AC to mature and show up,signing Silva was the best thing that could have happened for him.
Hey Ho Silva
Christensen' reading of the game has always been immaculate in back 3 or 4 (prodigious talent possessed since academy days, carried through to senior football), still only 24!
Not entered the theoretical prime age yet (long way away from that).
Amazing what happens when one give players time to develop, without preconceived (premature) dof judgements and conclusions.
Player development is non-linear.
AC routinely slandered & lambasted by halfwits on this site and outside...I reiterate the ones making those slanderous statements do not have the capacity to spot and understand the concept of young talent development.
If SIlva was exhibiting those type of performances against Spurs, Atletico, United and Liverpool consecutively...we'd never hear the end of it.
Also worth noting...Silva was nowhere near the standard of AC' excellence at the same age.
Pleased to see much-maligned Christensen (& Stones) thrive.
Club deserves massive credit for standing by him through turbulent times (so-called supporters could learn from that). Brilliant player
Christensen has always been good as the free player in a back 3. It's in a flat 4 where he struggles, although I'm not sure why. His positioning in a 3 is immaculate but in a two, he gets pulled out far too often. He was excellent last night, as were Chelsea. Have read a lot about Liverpool's problems, but Chelsea were very good last night, as they have been since Tuchel took charge. Werner continues to be the unluckiest striker in the league and Chelsea should have had it wrapped up before 60 minutes but Liverpool were no threat at all. With the players they have, Chelsea will be a good team under any manager with a structure.
In our 18-match unbeaten under Frank, kept 10 clean-sheets.
Collapsed after the Everton defeat.
Currently on 11-game unbeaten run under Tuchel, 8 clean-sheets...
Waiting to see how we'd react to our first loss under Tuchel.
I said earlier on the Haven...what are the chances that AC get's dropped when Silva is back
or is there an option to play AC Silva & Rudi (who was also very good yesterday)...seems Zooms is out of favour currently
Also...if he can get a tune out of AC...no reason he can't get Havertz & Ziyech playing too...and Pulisic come to that, seems to have regressed a lot lately

Personally think he's been mismanaged slightly (though I don't blame the managers, just one of those things). His confidence seemed to drop after that mistake vs. Barcelona - but then Sarri came in, didn't fancy him, and he never quite got the right platform to build it back up. Lampard gave him gametime, first season, but he didn't really give him the right platform IMO - expecting him to be the leader rather than the no.2 guy (which he definitely isn't in a back 4).
As the libero of a 3 I've never worried about him. The two & a half years of his career where he looked like the real deal was from that role. Long as the other two CB's have a bit of aggression his main weakness is concealed

Yeah, gotta agree with this. He is a technically excellent player but lacks maybe the strength and aggression to put him up there with the best. However, he thrives as a covering player. In a two, he can get outmuscled but as the free man in a back three, he doesn't have that problem. The problem we have often had since JT retired is that we are too easy to bully.
This is the issue with Havertz Ziyech and Pulisic...they need to get bigger and have the flake knocked out of them
AC can hack it in a back 5. But he is still weak in aback 4 and agst physical opponents. Everton will try and target him.
