It’s just a label - get over it, it literally has no value and counts for sodd all

I think in terms of general size that it’s still a big four or sky four. But city are obviously the most successful and spurs the other big club in the league.

Per the modus operandi of football these days it is purely based on financial power or potential. Actual ability on the park doesn’t come into it.

Maybe the case but let’s not forget. The teams in question draw the biggest tv ratings, have won the most etc

Yeah it’s more with general size of club, fan base, financial size, history, world wide reputation etc than just league positions. But yeah I don’t consider Arsenal as one of the big 6 at them moment, it’s only on reputation and fame of the club that we get chucked into it

Traditional Big 6 as opposed to the current Top 6.

Arsenal will always be in the conversation as a Traditional... They are not obviously a Top 6 side.

“Big 6” to me is in terms of revenues and global support, a bit different to the “big club” debate. I see nothing incorrect about the definition because the gap between even Arsenal/Spurs and the chasing pack is massive. And given they’re all grouped together politically in trying to exploit and change English football so that it’s no longer a meritocracy, it’s reasonable to identify the group as something.

I do raise a chuckle when they’re called the “Top 6” though, given there are currently no fewer than four other teams preventing that from happening.

I disagree with your analogy, Spurs aren’t more successful than Everton or Villa or Leicester

Over the last 20 years of course they are. Other than Leicester

The big 6 is used for pundits to make headline discussions when it doesn't really mean anything.

Every "big six" clash since City's cakewalk at Stamford Bridge have been dead rubbers.

Jeez, people are thick. The "big 6" relates primarily to the financial size of the club,.coupled with the size of their worldwide fan base and therefore their world brand. Yeah Leicester, your fan base can't just relate to people living in Leicester !!

Take the time to look at the financials, the football club rich list. You will see a huge gap between the big 6 and the likes of Leicester and West Ham.

Although we will let it go the fact that West Ham are not currently in the top 6, a club's size is not determined by the PL table as at Sunday 7th March 2021.

Bit obvious really. The big six are the ones that are financially light years ahead of the rest as they changed the rules to stop others catching up.

Its a bit rich to say, 'Jeez, people are thick' given your posting history, that you think that the media are anti spurs, and then try to deride other clubs fans, more successful clubs fans for having a similar opinion, very strange.
