And before anyone says anything, I’m still holding out hope that Rushden & Diamonds will one day qualify. The dream lives on

It already sounds a bit boring.

Bring on the Superleague, but this is a sheet precursor. Shouldn't even be called a league FFS.

Will the top 4 qualify for the following years CL?

Yeah it seems they’re gonna give France another spot and keep Germany, Italy, Spain and England with their 4 places.

But if a big English team doesn’t qualify, they may get a 5th for this legacy nonsense.

Probably means that City and Arsenal better start winning European trophies to build a legacy

Sounds like how they have watered down the Euros. Teams will have qualified with plenty of games left.

Not a fan, but the super league is inevitable over the next 10 years

Will be embarrassing when a team that entered because of legacy ends up winning the competition outright. They didn't even really qualify to begin with.

Sound crap.

Play a random 10 games v who the hell knows and who does best talk into the top 8 and the rest basically play off so only the absolute dregs go home early.

The play off should be rigged as well by seedings so it's actually making a mockery of the thing.

The groups are already too easy for seeded teams. Now you will have God knows what games between god know who and the bigger clubs.just sailing on through.

I presume being a high coefficient buys you easier games as well

Yeah it seems that way. It’s described as Each team playing 10 matches against a “similar range”
Of opponent. So what I don’t understand, is why not just have groups of 6 if u want everyone playing 10 matches?

36 teams, 6 groups of 6. Top 2 go through. Quick tombola for another 4 teams, then knockout?

And all 10 of these games will need to be played before Xmas. That’s a lot of matches to squeeze in!

They are already rewriting the rules for Liverpool like 2005

If only they could fast track it for next seasons CL then

Andrea Agnelli is a self-serving crook - google him.

Anything he does is primarily for the benefit of Juventus and anyone else he's pally with at the time.

It would be ironic if the owner of Juventus found a way to sneak Liverpool in after Heysel.

Agnelli is big mates with Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini - They were trying to find a way to sneak the Milan clubs into European comps a few years ago.

Aren’t they all? The only reason this is being co templates can only be to generate more money and help the big boys make more $$$

He's on a mission to boost the status of Serie A which in turn will benefit Juventus.

He was one of the figures behind the UEFA witch-hunt against City until his shady past was exposed.

if Agnelli likes it then it must b reel bad.

They should have reduced the CL entrants down to 16 teams and then had 2 leagues of 8. Winners of each league go to knockouts, 2,3, play a play off system to get into the semis. The rest faark off.

Then they could have kept the Europa the same size whilst still creating (what looks terrible on paper) Europa conference league

Juve aren't exactly Champions League royalty.

But yeah...if he likes it, the game is doomed.

that wasn't the objective. Quality was never the thought.

they have added quantity. every team gets 10 games for tv, with play offs almost assured = 12 (i assume playoffs over two legs)

thats more tv moeny, more fans in grounds etc etc etc.

Its all about more teams more money.

Agreed. I can see Man City getting in on legacy even though they have none. Would be typical and your owners are not adverse to the idea of paying money under the table.
