Malokarpatan - Ze Semana.....
Something about a Slovakian Mother Earth spurting her seeds all over the land. Or something.
Riff after riff after riff. A favorite of weemanfrom

I don't just listen to metallica.
Right now I have arise by sepultura on and later will mix it up with some Anthrax and faith no more

Have you tried that Bütcher Record Irish? 666 Goats Carry My Chariot
Quality NWOBHM / Thrash. Big catchy hooks galore
Actually manfrom I saw anthrax in Dublin in 87/88 and they walked off after 5 songs due to some morons spitting at them.
The tickets at the time cost 8.50. we got 4 quid back

Always remember there being a belfast bus at the gigs in the top hat in Dublin.
Man great days
Used to go to the odd slane or trip to tipp.
Outside of festivals it was usually just a wee show here or there. QOTSA, sound garden, machinehead maybe. White zombie at RDS

You at gnr in 92?
Trip to tipp. Took me that takes me back
92 would’ve been a bit early for me. Was likely only 15. Not sure my Da would’ve been keen on loading me onto a bus and sending me across the border in that day and age.
Was there in 97 I think it was. Prodigy and the Cardigans and Foo Fighters.
Was a bit rubbish. Cops lifted me and a mate outside some pub on the way there, thought we had bought drugs. Just had grabbed a copy of the lineup off some fella, but he done us no favors by running away as soon as the cop came over!
Quick search in the police station and we were on our way. They did have me down to my boxers though.

I was 17 at that gig nearly 18. It was the only time I've ever been to slane bar 2019.
It's a disaster of a place
Went to Slsne a couple of times. Took, Slayer SoaD, Therapy? Was the only one I paid for.
Mate used to throw me a job changing kegs down there. Loads of fun, but essentially stuck in a refrigerated truck most of the day.

I had no idea who they were but that’s about as recognizable a Max Cavallera guitar riff as your ever likely to hear
So the JA metal community consists of manfrom and Irish
Saw you mention Anselmo earlier. I saw pantera support Megadeth in Dublin in 91/92. Outstanding gig.
You ever see the big 4 live?
I have in istanbul and Gothenburg

I think one of the Spurs guys was in a band that toured UK in support of some fairly well known bands. Seemed to have some similarities in taste, but I can’t recall who it was.
And tbab will likely come along at some point. He inserts a bit of metal into his rants once in a while .
Anyway, feel free to drop recommendations in here

Saw Megadeth and Pantera in the same tour in Belfast. Was a phenomenal show. Megadeth at their absolute height, and Pantrra just about to go pan galactic!
Seen megadeth x 3
Anthrax x 2
Slayer x 5
Metallica x 0
The Anselmo show was awful. Was essentially a fat drunk Phil fronting a band doing covers of his own songs. Now Phil was a great vocalist at one point, but your not gonna put a covers band together 20 years after they’ve split and expect some session musician to start belting out dimebag riffs. Was hideous. Embarrassing.
Were you at Megadeth in belfast in the 80s when he declared Ireland for the Irish before playing anarchy? Carnage apparently.
Also there were lads selling t shirts outside a fiver a go (remember that) for the cause
Megadeth complained and had to get an armed escort
Mustaine mentions it in his book
Oh yeah, we know all about that! That was in the Antrim Forum in the late 80s.
He totally misread the situation and started the whole “give Ireland back....” malarkey. Disaster!
Supposedly the bloke that plays Hodor was at that show
