In contrast, Tottenham's approach stank of a Mourinho who was more concerned with Arsenal than his own team, and showing what Spurs could do. He didn't set them up to win that game, he set them up worried about what the opposition can do to them.

totally agree, the special one reverts to type at any hint of playing a decent team, all this free flowing football was all a myth , then blame the players

Have finally got around to watching MOTD, and found the post match analysis by Martin Keown absolutely disgusting.
Whilst I appreciate Pundits all have a certain amount of, shall we say "leaning" towards their ex club, but this guy takes it too far, and really needs to be reined in.

In his exchanges with JJ, two comments struck me as "beyond the pail"

First he said "Arsenal deserved the penalty" due to their better play, even though the MOTD analysis clearly showed Micheal Oliver had yet again done Spurs over ( yeah he has serious history with Spurs )

JJ quite rightly, and looking seriously annoyed, said "hold on Martin, you can't justify a penalty that was an incorrect decision, simply because the team played better"

What he should of gone on to say was he would clearly not say that if the penalty went to Spurs, thereby calling him out on National Telly.

The second rediculous segment was Keown saying "Lamela let his team mates down and needs to learn from this" when talking about the red card.

Again JJ, by now really annoyed, said " hold on Martrin, this was his first red card in his career, and is not a question of he needs to learn from it" ( like it happens every week )

Again, JJ should have gone on to question why players like Leno, with his regular mistakes, or Xhaka with HIS desiplinary record, or Aubameyang, who clearly did/said something to cause his manager to drop him from a big game. "all of which, Martin, have let their team mates down"

The whole segment left me annoyed and frustrated that the BBC and Sky allow these people to have a voice on national TV , watched by millions of people, given them the opportunity to spew out they bias and , in Keown's case, hatred for other teams.

Yeah, by all means have a passion for your ex clubs, but when you are watched by millions, you have to be professional. This guy is not, and treats his ( well paid ) position like he is with his mates on the terraces.

I also found Keown very annoying, and I think it was both a penalty and a deserved red card, but Keown didn't attempt to defend the decisions and instead talked about Arsenal deserving to win. That wasn't the question Martin.

On the penalty, I think Sanchez gambled on Lacazette making proper contact, and tried to block the shot and take the man after, but because Lacazette fluffed his lines Sanchez ended up sliding into him. If he had dived across him purely to block the shot he wouldn't have conceded the penalty.

On Lamela, I agree that the two yellow cards in isolation looked soft, but what they didn't look at was everything else he did which led to that point. When Lamela came on he kicked out at first Xhaka and then Luiz. He then scored a worldie and at that point he should have calmed down. Instead he kept on making late challenges off the ball. When he came through Partey to win the ball, it was accumulation of fouls and Oliver indicated as much. And the second yellow was only seconds after Kane had flattened Gabriel and gotten away with one. Mourinho didn't even appeal the red, he knew the forearm from Lamela was intentional and daft - he was pushing it too far.

I also agreed with Jenas that Lamela normally walks this line very well and this is his first red. It's not like he is getting needlessly sent off on a regular basis (like say David Luiz/Xhaka). He might need to have a think about how to behave when he's on a yellow a bit, but he isn't a repeat offender.
