I think even without VVD most wouldn’t of expected Liverpool to be where they are at this stage. I would of still expected both fullbacks to be the best by some distance, but think Cancelo and Shaw have probably had better seasons. Further up that ruthless streak in Salah and Mane just hadn’t been there, probably would of put 7 past Leipzig last season given the number of good chances created a few days ago.

Team wasn’t in too bad nick in December when you had all those draws. Certainly games you’d still be expecting to win.
Why do people think like this. Missing fans is not the same for everyone. For some managers, fans don't mean anything.
For someone like Klopp, fans mean everything. You can see it in his behaviour during and after games.
Klopp is manager that taps into the passion of the fans. It's part of his style. He replies partly on passion and emotions to make his te more determine ned and desperate to win for him and the fans. It drives him and it's missing.
Look at Klopp's interviews since covid broke. He's clearly not enjoying football behind closed doors. He's not feeling it the way he would be if fans were there. That connection with fans has been a part of Klopp's success at every single club he's been at.
Tired of hearing how everything is the same for everyone. Nothing is ever the same for everyone.
It makes sense prima facie, but missing fans is not the same for everyone. City are already used to it too, and that gives them an unfair advantage

We won the first game in December and the second is when we lost our last centre back and had to use two midfielders from the second half. We drew. We won our third game against Spurs with a youth centre back with a midfielder alongside him. We won the next game 7-0 when Matip came back from injury. We drew the fifth game in December when Matip was put out for the season to add to the two first choice centre backs who were already out for the season. By now the Injuries are starting to add up as we're having to play players without rests due to injuries. We then drew to Newcastle. The trend continued from West Brom when all the injuries mounted. January would then see the two midfielders brought in to centre back injured and one out out for the season.
