Craig Brown pretty much hit the nail on the head; the EPL and other leagues look at ours and treat it like tripe and over the years I would not deny them of that. Although there have been a couple of seasons where between the OF the title race has been close and interesting, to the rest of Europe we have been nothing but a shambles; Celtic performance wise especially!!! So here's to us, Hearts, United and I GUESS you guys making an impact this year and making the rest of Europe take some notice! I can't see United making it too far, or Hearts for that matter but I hope all prove me wrong and we do well. Getting fed up in seeing the SPL drop further down the European pan every single year! Love Scottish football and it is great to wind you lot up if you fail in Europe but we really need us both to perform, because realistically the other teams will maybe get past a few qualifiers and then fail.

The league is the main goal but Europe and the money that comes with it is a superb bonus, that both OF teams should not be relying on.

I hope that Whyte understands that and that he will see European qualification as a bonus. We can't keep spending money the we have unless we are guaranteed the ridiculous ammounts of TV money that comes with particpating in the Champions league.

We are two strong teams, and I would prefer if both, could focus more on youth development. Being a N.iron fan, i'm an outsider but I would think it would help the Scottish national team far more than scouring the leagues to see who had a granny born in Scotland!?!

Lots of talented youngsters out there, some make their name being put into the big games. Most of course don't live up to the hype and get shipped on.

But let's hope it all changes.

i dont want to start an argument with the rest of the league teams but imo and its just my opinion-its the other teams in the league that are causing all the problems.
its not rocket science that the league is between rangers and celtic-it has been for decades and prob will be for decades to come
if they stop buying mediocre players from all over the world and used the money to build and develop young players we would have a healthy filtering system in scotland with the best players going to rangers and celtic and in time(4 to 6 years ) we would have teams like Hamilton (who i was impressed with this season) staying in the prem league and gaining experience
what i would do in a 5 year plan
1 except rangers and celtic all the rest have only scottish players
2 all 18 year olds put on a 5 year contract
3 after 5 years rangers and celtic can only field scottish players

again imo that would level out our game in scotland and with better coaches would create great teams
you dont need great players to have a great team

Anyways I have been saying for the past few months that I will genuinly be supporting celtic this year. I say genuinly, because I have tried to support them before, however the lure of seeing them get pumped was too much of a thrill. This season it has really hit home just how poor our co-efficient is and we all need to play our part, including the dundee utds and motherwells and especially hearts, who I think underperform nearly every time in europe.

So a wee run for celtic to the quarter finals or something would honestly make me happy. I want to see you lot do well (but not TOO well)
