Go on vidal, you know you want to.
That you subscribe to the Torygraph tells everybody a lot more about you, than it does about Derby's supposed takeover.
I thought I read that some one else had thrown their hat into the ring?
Unsurprisingly, RFB, you are incorrect in your assumption. I followed a link on a fans' forum to this article. I have no time for the Telegraph though John Percy is a good sports journalist.
Any chance of cut and paste? It's behind a paywall for me. Ta.
You've got some brass-neck coming on here spouting your socialist credentials when you are simultaneously wedged up the arris of 'Mr Tory' (AKA Rev).
Not in the slightest bit surprised at this announcement. There are certain types of people in business you would not trust with a barge pole - for me the Sheik was one of them. No different to the "Three Amigos" we had in the past. I'd say Mel has dodged a bullet there. Whether there are other parties waiting in the wings remains to be seen but the fact is that in Mel we have an owner who is a fan. Yes, he's invested a reported £200m in the club and to no avail. But the fact is he cant take his money with him when he (as we all do) falls off the perch. Keep going Mel. I for one am behind you. I'm just sorry that your 'benevolence' to date hasn't paid off. Keep the faith .....
"Derby County's protracted takeover by Bin Zayed International has finally been scrapped, with the Championship club understood to be "furious".
Mel Morris, the Derby owner and chairman, has ended negotiations with Sheikh Khaled and his party after the Dubai-based businessman failed to meet a final deadline to complete the deal.
After nearly 12 months of talks, Morris is understood to have told BZI they had until Monday to deliver the necessary funds, but with no resolution the deal is off with Derby now pursuing other options.
It is now the third time that Sheikh Khaled, a cousin of Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour, has fallen short in his bid to buy a football club after previous attempts with Liverpool and Newcastle.
Derby announced on November 6 they had agreed a deal in principle with Derventio Holdings, a company set up by BZI, and the takeover was approved by the English Football League.
Three separate deadlines have now been missed, including one on Christmas Eve, and the delay threatened to plunge Derby into financial crisis earlier this year.
In January, it is understood that Derby's finances were woefully low and Morris had to provide funds from his own pocket to keep the club afloat. The sales of Kaide Gordon to Liverpool, George Evans to Millwall and Morgan Whittaker to Swansea also helped to generate cash flow at a crucial time.
Derby have not discounted the prospect of legal action for breach of contract now that negotiations have ceased.
Morris is currently talking to other parties, including Spanish businessman Erik Alonso and at least two other consortiums who are said to be credible."
I can chip-in a tenner, maybe £20 at a push if anyone else is up for a JA consortium TO?

No takers, Scouse ?

If five of us chucked Mel £20 each he'd still be better off than the Arab's offer.
Listening in. Almost 3 there
I have a few thousand down the back of the settee I could spare. I am certain Vidal has as well. VC probably has a few spare thousands so we have the start of a credible bid. A leveraged takeover as they call it, i.e. a take over financed by huge debts.
Norwich are good. Forest are shocking. Maybe it will be one of those games of two halves that you sometimes get.
I've just checked. There's something that looks like it could have once been a mini Cheddar, if that helps at all. Happy to donate it to the cause.

See Mason Bennett scored for Millwall. He has probably scored more for them than he did for Derby.

QPR have just made it 3-2 after being 0-2 down following your mate Bennett's goal.
Imagine being 0-2 down at HT at home to one of the top teams in the division and not having enough character to mount a 2nd half fight back
They were very lucky to get nil tonight.
Just willing Reading to get a leveller now.
Yup - Bennett's scored five now for Millwall and mustered a grand four whilst at Derby for twenty odd years.
New manager bounce - Bowyer will get more out of Brum than Karanka could. He comes across as 'cold death' that would put anyone into depression (Karanka).
I see us getting something from our coming games - the fact yesterday's result feels like a win should hopefully put the confidence back in a few players that's been lacking.
