Best playmaker I have seen at the club since Fabregas. The vision-wow
I think he reminds me more of Cazorla which is higher praise. Santi played higher up before dropping into the CM role. Odegaard has great close control, energy, a good shot and the eye for the pass. Granted...his right foot is nowhere close to Santo's weaker foot ( apparently it is his left one but I dont believe it).
Cesc was more of a passer and controlled the game from deeper. Either way...either comparison is high praise
Odegaard will save our season

Obv Ozil was as good but the fact he's so young and exciting reminds me of cesc

Odegaard has been excellent since he scored the goal in the Europa. But lets hold on the plaudits comparing to our best ever.
Don't think we have a chance to sign him permanently.

As an aside Ødegaard, and I know what I'm saying when I say this, has shades of Fabregas to him. I'm not talking about those passes that turned Adebayor into a 30 a season striker, but about what he offers to midfield during the course of a game. His qualities highlight the ultimate gap between Özil's game and Cesc's, in that the latter didn't just create, but controlled games, too. As Ødegaard grows into his role for us, you're going to see more and more people make the comparison as his vision is nothing to sniff at either, and he has an eye for a goal.
Some of his passing is similar to Ozil's but he has much more control and influence on games. Looks a real top class player but he's gonna cost a bomb, it's a shame we don't have option to buy. Another loan with an option this time would be perfect.
He's really coming good in the last few games , but cant see us getting a buy option at a fee we can afford
Players like Ødegaard don't just fall into your lap. You move heaven and earth to get them.
I remember some on here declaring Torreira was world class after he hit the ground running.
At least wait until Odegaard's sustained this form for half a season.

I don't think you understand what "shades of" means...
Some our fans do have a tendency of overhyping players. Remember Ceballos looked good first few games he played, he has been very inconsistent ever since and looks virtually impossible for him to score in the premier league.
Santi was the best midfielder at this club in the Emirated era no doubt. Odegaard is still a young man at the age of 22 years. He surely is talented but not as technical gifted than the spanish magician. Odegaard has a good dynamic, a good vision and his passing is accurate and always forward. He massivley helped us to gain a point against West Ham after we were 3 down. Some games to play till the end of this season. Consistency is key.

Fabregas scored more, assisted more and was a talismanic presence who often won games on his own.
Santi is probably our 2nd best Emirates player, but he is in contention with Alexis Sanchez and RVP(ugh). Fabregas stands alone.
Would be great to keep him! Him and ESR could be a great creative pairing for years to come. BUT, prob will not happen. By all accounts he is happy to stay after this year, and whilst people will see the at BC and think he wants to join, it’s more likely he’s talking about an extended loan.
Real need to sell players but they have plenty of old timers and under achievers who can in place of odegard, especially if his performances continue to impress. And I Odegard is in a decent position as it is, play for arsenal in the prem and the return to Madrid.
And if they do sell, his performances will be raising that price tag and I bet a few clubs would be willing to pay more than we would.

He's been awful.
The idea of paying Rm 50 million for this guy makes me physically sick.
