One issue with Jose I have is, I have never once seen him take responsibility for a defeat. He hates to lose, which is integral to success but he seems so pi55ed off when his teams lose he usually acts like a 5 yr old in the post match interview and blames anyone and everyone but himself . When you are winning people accept it....when the trophies dry up you just seem out of touch with reality.

If Jose was at Man City, he would still be cleaning up. Could you say the same about Pep, if he inherited the current Spurs squad?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd argue zidane has been a more successful manager than Jose, even if one managed longer. Jose won 1 league and two cups in three years. Not that impressive tbh.
No guarantees Jose would even succeed at city. Zidane is an inferior coach to Jose I feel but performed better in the same role. Jose seems to divide a clubs personnel and without a huge budget his skill doesn't out way the damage that causes, in my view.
If you don’t think football has changed in 10 years I don’t see how player attitudes would be any different. I think the game has moved beyond him now though. The high press, high line style is something more frequently seen these days. It’s not just the massive clubs doing it anymore.
I think he’s changed as a tactician though. His original Chelsea side were far more attacking than they got credit for. For some reason he’s become more cautious and negative as time has gone on. What hasn’t changed though is that some players, more frequently these days do not respond to his methods. Good players too. Look at Robben. An absolute world beater who was torn apart by Jose. His methods will work on some but will not work on others, which then causes dressing room unrest. I don’t think this is new territory for Jose, it’s just that there are more Robben’s than Cole’s these days, doesn’t make them mercenaries or bad players as some have suggested. Players are human and sensitive like the rest of us.

But yeah I take your point, he's not shy about calling players out. And even if he's right that's often not well received by players.

How does that work? He had an open Cheque book at Old Trafford and flopped.
If he was at The Etihad, City wouldn't have the players they have now - They'd have the likes Mkhitaryan, Fred and Lindelof instead.

Leeds players would run through a brick wall for bielsa.
