I'd get in better coaching staff.

I think our squad is decent.

What would I do if I were Ole....resign

The manager doesn’t work with a budget. The finances of our transfers have nothing to do with him. He isn’t given a figure that he has available to spend, and doesn’t play Championship Manager like our fans seem to think he does.

(Fack me, I cannot believe I have to post this again, because it has been explained to people a thousand times on here before by various people who actually pay attention to how the club is run )

Before Murtough, Judge and Fletch’s roles were changed, Ole was part of a transfer committee that provided a detailed list of recommendations to Woodward’s transfer team. They gave a list of priority positions, with an again prioritised list of players under each position.

Woodward and Judge’s team then went off to approach the players’ clubs to enquire about availability and presumably price. *They* decided which players were (supposedly) realistically attainable and affordable, *they* negotiated on price, *they* agreed the deals. Ole, like the managers before him, were informed once deals had been agreed.

I know that’s not how computer games work, and as such some people might be confused reading the above, but no elite football club in world football asks their manager, “You’ve got EUR50M to spend, which player are you going to go and get with that?”

No doubt we will learn about the new process in time, but I expect that rather than Woodward, we will see Murtough (rather than Woodward) ultimately deciding how much we should be valuing players at and making the yay or nay decisions. He will be taking recommendations from Fletch, who I expect will lead the (footballing) transfer team. These should be a significant step forward for us, because a) we will finally have a footballing man - and a man who knows the footballing side of United as well as anyone in Murtough - leading the unit and making the decisions, and b) he’ll be able to tell Judge when we’re barking up the wrong tree when the likes of Dortmund are telling us they want EUR150M for their latest 18 year-old off the conveyor belt.

Bring in more Utd dna. There’s not enough. Rooney, Giggs, Scholes and Ferdinand, maybe Evra too. For commercial dna, bring in Beckam.

Come on Rosso. Everyone knows that when people say, "who should Ole sign?", or words to that effect, it's just short hand for "what should the club look to try to do in the market?" and all the nuts and bolts of that.

I don't think anyone is genuinely suggesting that Ole is the lone or predominant determiner of our transfer business!

I think a DM who’s good enough to protect the defence alone as well as being able to help keep possession and things moving is essential, basically a Matic upgrade. That then gives us the ability to play Pogba further forward and us a more attacking unit and also more opportunities for VDB to get game time.

A RW, CB and ST are all also needed but I think they have to wait unless we can generate more money.

Like Ole I wouldn’t know who these players are (as I don’t really watch much outside of Utd games these days) but would hope the club have the people to identify the qualities needed in these players.

I’d also like to see more trust given to Bailly in the CB role, if he’s not trusted because of fitness concerns then get rid, same with Tuanzebe. If we get rid then bring in a replacement.

Ideally keep Cavani for another year as he’s useful, but if we can’t then maybe look at a similar experiences ST who can do a short term job. Or play Greenwood centrally if we think he’s ready and give Diallo more minutes on the right.

Decide once and for all who our first choice GK is going into pre season.

Don’t be so negative trying to protect slender leads going into the last 10-20 minutes.

I genuinely think we need four positions addressing - CB, DM, RW and CF.

Hard to say what's the priority; I'm tempted to say DM but that might be partly a reaction to the Leicester game. We really do need a RW as we've not had one for years really and it affects the way we attack (or not) down that side. But I doubt we'll spend a lot there with Amad now on board and Greenwood is a decent option there for the time being. I'd increasingly like a top striker. If we could only get two signings (and it'll be more than £50m!), I'd go with something like:

Henderson
Wan-Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Shaw
*New DM*
Fernandes Pogba
Greenwood *New CF* Rashford

The new DM would have to be someone very good so as to allow Pogba to get forward more. You can pretty much toss a coin for me between Lindelof and Bailly; I tend to prefer Bailly as a defender but I don't think Solskjaer does and he's not fit often enough anyway.

Close the trophy room those shiny things are so annoying and take a lot of polishing.

Ask Pep if I can watch a proper training session.

And stop talking in every interview in the third person.

Solksjaer tends to use the pronoun "we", which is actually first-person plural and not third-person. Unless I misunderstood what you meant?

First of all let’s sort out what he isn’t going to do. He isn’t going to buy Haaland. That is not going to happen for more than one reason.

.......

People will disagree but I think this is more important than any other signing this summer.

He replies to many question for example “ what you have to do” like he is talking about somebody else doing the job not himself, he is very consistent with this if you listen to him.

I have a couple of scenarios.
First à good talk with Pogba, if he wishes to stay I would Have Rashy on the left, Pogba inside left, Greenwood striker, Amad right wing, Fecundo back up James back uo to Rashy, Martial back up to Mason.
Bruno in the Scholes role, McT DM.
Let DDG go on a free. Buy a top partner for Harry.
Get a good defensive coach.

Second if Paul isn't committed. Speak to Haaland and find out if he would come to us if we agreed a price.
If yes sell Paul and Martial and buy him.

In general play four forwards, and have a more attacking mindset. Never defend a one goal lead, virtually all teams are poor at this, go for a second every time.

If we don't need Bailly sell him.

Get Amad and AWB to train together, to form a proper partnership on the right.

It's a bit of a stretch holding the way Solskjaer conjugates verbs in a non-native language against him. That said, if he did start speaking about himself in the third person, I'd sign up to the Ole Out club. One has to draw the line somewhere.

A lot of native speakers people use "you" in the way Solskjaer does. Almost nobody feels comfortable saying "what one needs to do" etc as it just sounds so absurdly formal.

I would give you 5 <star,> to even it out but RR has shamed me for that in the past. So have 3 and try harder next time.

Could just say what I need to do although it would be fun to hear Ole do a presser as Prince Charles

To clarify, I was referring to the use of what linguists term the 'Alan Shearer third person', not the use of 'one'. That was reason enough to be glad we never signed him.

I would offer Martial, Greenwood on loan for three Seasons and 40 Million for Haaland. Could imageine Dortmund taking that.
