Ha.. his most recent SM posting, would indicate what we all already knew. Or well most of us. Jose has lost the dressing room.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why would Jose have lost the dressing room, because Gareth Bale is returning to Madrid? It was always likely to be short term.
And Bale - whose Wales side face World Cup qualifiers against Belgium and Czech Republic either side of a friendly against Mexico - admits the latest break for international fixtures has come at a good time given the negativity around Spurs.
'I always think when things aren't going too well at a club, it's nice to get away, especially mentally get away from the club environment,' Bale, 31, said.
'Definitely, it can be a benefit [getting away]. We focus on these games for Wales, which are very important for us. We forget club life and concentrate on this.'
This is just the first line drawn in the sand in negotiating a position.
These will be the facts:
1. Bale does not want to go back to RM
2. Bale wants to be paid very well
3. Spurs will want Bale
4. Spurs will not be able to afford Bales current wages
5. RM will not want Bale back under any circumstances
Real will be hoping Bale is a success because they can then feel confident in negotiating as they will want him gone and hope they have a willing buyer. Bale saying he's coming back will strike £600k a week's worth of fear in to RM hearts.
They will not want to have to pay 30m Euro a year to Bale when they need that money for MBappe.
Spurs will look to do a deal like: RM paying Bale a £15m golden handshake, sell Bale for £0 and Spurs pay Bale £250k a week so he's not out of pocket, we retain our star and RM halve their exposure.
It wouldnt surprise me if Levy got an angle on Bale deal to get the buy back clause out of the Regilion deal.
eg. We pay off the buyout clause on Reggie for £10m. which is a contribution to RM paying off Bale for £15m.
RM want MBappe. They will be loading all their eggs in that basket and will not want Bale and his massive wages on the books. They have sold Reggie so to get more money for him now if we buyout that clause is also a no brainer for them. RM aint that flush with money so are not quite the force they once were.
Interesting take Devonshire and one I hadn’t considered.

This would make sense if we didn’t already have the option to take bake next season on the same terms as we have now
I hope we have the option to bake next season
How much are you paying him?
3. Spurs will want Bale
---
I'm not sure that is a fact. Not in terms of a permanent transfer, anyway, it doesn't make any sense to me in the practical sense and especially with Levy in charge.
Anyway. Like MK says we have the option to extend the loan. For Bale to say returning was always his plan could mean several things
1. He's not aware of the option or never considered it
2. The option doesn't exist
3. The option has certain clauses that need to be met
4. He's just saying that now we're unlikely to get CL/win a trophy
5. His long term plan is to get paid as much as possible and Spurs was never a serious option for him

Bale and Jose seem to incompatible. Perhaps if Jose is gone at the end of the season, or before, then Bale might want to stay?

Bale has made it very clear for the best part of a decade that he’s only interested in making as much money from football as he can possibly make.
That’s why he’s still contracted by Real; that’s why he’s currently at Spurs; and that’s what’ll drive his decisionmaking going forwards.
