Phishing emails are fairly rife at the moment due to CV19. I get them all the time from fraudsters fronting as legitimate firms.

In regard to Paypal please see:

I thought it was a scam or an April fool prank but I logged in to my PayPal account (I didn’t access it via the e-mail) and sure enough there is a payment of £10 taken paid to Leeds United!
I have forwarded the PayPal e-mail to 2 different e-mail addresses I have for Leeds Utd and asked them to explain the transaction and refund me the money.

Report it. But first my Nigerian Prince of Zimbabwe needs £10,000,000 so he can claim the throne of Adisabba. If you have a moment good sir, can you forward the monies to my bank account?

For your troubles, ill ensure once he is King, he will provide you with a Papaya friend

This sounds suspicious Op, I wouldn’t got trusting any so called Kings of Nigeria.

That said, what about the first Nigerian astronaut in space? He went up with the Russians to the old space station in 1978, but there wasn’t enough room to get him back when they stopped using it , so he’s still up there. He’s bored but is in good spirits and is due 5.7 m in back pay.

If you give his representatives 15k to help fund the Nigerian space program to get him down, then they’ll ensure that you get 40% of his back pay.

What a win win, huh?

I got the following message from LUTV last week.

------
Dear Customer,

You may have noticed several repeated transactions on your account of late for the LUTV Weekly Pass.

This has occurred due to a billing systems issue which resulted in the weekly payments not being taken for a period of time. The multiple payments are a result of the system catching up with pending payments.

Please be assured that all these payments are correct but are just being taken later than expected - you are not being charged any additional amounts.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused - if you do wish to contact us please do so via lutvsupport@streamamg.com.

Kind regards,

The LUTV Team
--------

I wonder if its linked to your issue.

Anyway, its paypal so you are heavily protected as a buyer. Just log a dispute on the transaction in the resolution centre and they will sort you out. No need to go all panicy on a footy forum over 10 facking pounds.

And I know what I am talking about, I worked at paypal for a good few years.

Sorry, I thought because it was Leeds United it was OK to query, on here, whether anyone else had had money taken incorrectly. Also, I don’t think it matters if the amount is £10, 50p or £50k if it shouldn’t have been taken.

I won’t bother writing anymore articles.

No PayPal related, but LUTV have taken 16 payments of £0.99 from my account in the last couple of months.

Still not had a response from them about it.

Gonna have to kill my debit with them.

Thanks Matty - I've not had any communications from them.

It makes sense, but I think I'll do some trawling of my bank account to make sure they haven't overcharged -- they took seven sequential daily payments from me last week!
