It’s totally this. He’s not the sort of player to down tools, even if he is pushing for a move behind the scenes. He’s clearly a guy that plays with a smile on his face so when there’s little to smile about his form drops. It’s 100% Jose, as I think it is for the rest of the squad. Sandy and his disciples keep saying we’re in a cup final and two points off the top 4 because of Jose. We’re in this position in spite of him, not because of him. We would have walked top four under a more progressive manager.
Son has always been notoriously bad for consistency. He only scored one goal in his final 11 league appearances in Poch’s final full season where he won player of the year

Absolutely bang on correct.
Even that fool Sandy was going on about how our squad was superb a few months ago. Supposedly reading Liverpool fans about how he wouldn’t swap our squad for anyone’s.
Now, purely because don’t meet that narrative, because if idiotic managerial decisions, he says the players aren’t good enough.
I’m sorry but actually the players ARE good enough as was proven by the previous manager. Perhaps this manager should coach and train them and even implement tactics that play to their strengths rather than running them down, alienating and demotivating them.
Yes, there are a few that are poor, but no one was playing this badly under Poch.

So Spurs are two points off top four and in a final despite Jose. But when we had a couple of good seasons under the previous manager it was because of him. Talk about having an agenda against our current manager. You cannot have it both ways fella.
This sandy, people forget these players didn't perform for poch for nigh on 18 months, I know they got to CL final in that time but jeezus didn't we get some luck in that run, then in the final completely capitulated, so yeah I think it's justified to look towards the players

garrybuild 100 per cent correct. A lot of our supporters go all gooey eyed at the first mention of Poch. When in reality, it was not all roses. Plenty of downs along with the so called highs. Oh and not a single trophy.
The team was seriously regressing in the last eight months of Poch`s reign, but he didn`t seem to have a clue how to turn it around, and allowed Spurs to slip to 14th in the table at one point, with some very embarrassing results at the end. He had money to spend during his years at the clubs, but didn`t spend it that wisely. Not Jose is expected to pick up the pieces of the Poch era, and turn it all around overnight.
Spurs got as many points under one season of André Villas-Boas, as they did in three of Poch`s seasons, but our supporters wanted him out as well.
Our supporters seem to have an agenda against lots of our managers even if they are not doing that badly in the grand scheme of things.
They still insult our last manager who actually won the club a trophy, Juande Ramos if he was some kind of leper.
Very strange supporter base Spurs have.
New manager and players are required.
hes just a streaky player. this season is nothing different to any other.
when on form one of the best in the world, but lack of consistency holds him back from being truly world class. hes just a player with world class ability which he displays in streaks.

His pressing against Newcastle when he came on was a joke. He runs at defenders at full speed, they see him coming a mile away and just side stepped him with ease. This happened at least 4 times. He has to do better. He is very weak in a shoulder to shoulder challenge hence why the likes if Sterling, Mane, Salah, a few others are better than him.

Completely agree Spurtle. His purple patches are certainly more prolonged as he develops. I feel at times his covering runs for the team, are perhaps hindering his ability to receive the ball where he is most lethal, to the left corner of the 18.
Son is instantly class because of his pace, finishing and both footedness, what makes him harder to replace despite not having the all round game to be world class imo, depends in what context. he is still, in bad form, top class and our 2nd best player.

You could be right Toby. Certainly the dynamics in the team have changed. We're no longer seeing the link up play with him and Kane like we used to and noticeably Kane's assists have dropped off as well as Son's goals.
Heung-min Son's new #thfc contract is expected to be sealed before the start of next season, with the club awaiting a set date for the return of income streams. | @AlasdairGold
with 2 years left on his contract in the summer its important to get done, as hes important off the pitch as well for us is Son. but also doesnt rule out being able to get a good fee for him still at an older age.
