I’ve got no issue with him trying what he did. He stated how well Keita had been playing in training, and most of us acknowledged the likely reasons behind it. Obviously it didn’t work out, but at least Klopp changed it early enough to make a difference.

Nothing to do with incompetence, more to do with UEFA wanting RM through to the SF at the minimum.

Liverpool were in their worst form for over a decade. This was a RM bye as far as UEFA were concerned, they don't want egg on their faces now.

Almost guaranteed a Liverpool player gets sent off and RM get a penalty just to assure RM get their home win by 2+ goals.
