Xhaka at LB moreso than agg score may well be what forced Arteta's hand into playing attacking football tonight. A natural WB there, he'd have stuck with boredom ball but the possibilty of a Xhaka roast all night down the left meant we had to comprhensively control the game in and from the opposition half to protect that left flank at all times. So no Artetaball allowed, had to be Arsenalball to be sure of the win and Arteta knew it too hence not even attempting to start his boringass way, just straight to Arsenalball instead from the opening whistle..
Xhaka has never been as bad as Arsenal fans make out. Largely a team scapegoat for years, carrying the can first for the lack of defensive work rate from from a straight up ahead of him, then for manager's poor choices. I've got all the time in the world for the player because one thing is definitely clear after all the sh !t AFC fans have given him. Moodyass fans or not, he's all about playing for the shirt. In an age where that's generally lacking, at a club where the fans biyatched for 5-10 years about players not having heart, I reckon Granit deserves alot more respect and quite frankly gratitude, from AFC fans than he gets.
And he even threatens to give trolls a slap too

He has done well but against poor opposition. Would you feel confident with Xhaka at LB against Rashford or Greenwood?
