I take full responsibility for that. Talk if being top of the league this afternoon, ended up 3rd by a thread
. I won't be as positive next time.

not your fault Benny we were beaten by a better side today perhaps if we had scored earlier we may have looked like winning it or at least getting something.

Four games to go we can still be positive.

Big night on Tues we have to shake today out of the system and get back on the winning bus

Carisle away. They drew 00 against Port Vale today. A win there will put a different complexion on matters.

Some tired legs out there today, after the Salford game.
Should the gaffer have started with some fringe players
It’s to late now anyway, I hope they sleep well and rest up till Tuesday & come out fighting.
Thanks for the thread Benny !.

There is scope for changes. Thought the full backs lacked energy and could easily be replaced by brockbank and Jackson. Doyle needs a lift so start miller alongside him or where lee plays.

It's all about Tuesday night now.
Hopefully IE's super fit regime will pay dividends and see us back to winning ways.
Do we tweak it or stick with the same again perhaps the one lesson we need to learn is when to make those subs we seem to be stuck waiting for the clock to strike the hour gone gong for subs.

Over the summer are we not due the coaching and scouting review it's the areas where we could do with some serious investment with the right people I'm sure it would pay big dividends for IE.

I was going to say, that I think that Miller should start with Doyle. For the first goal, Gilks was like a statue but We can't really complain about him. He has saved us many times since Evatt decided to drop Billy the kid.

The defence was not up to its usual standard yesterday but it's anyone's guess whether Evatt will make changes. Perhaps it was just one of the off days after the Lord Mayors show against Salford.

Yes pasty, we desperately need to win on Tuesday. It could define our season.

Regarding substitutions, I was looking for early subs. I think had Evatt acted sooner, we could have reversed the result.

I think that you know my thoughts on both scouting and coaches. We definitely need to address those problems and I don't think it would need too much investment but the rewards could be massive. Evatt and his assistant might be good at coaching defenders but they obviously have a problem with the front players.

Somewhere in the 606 archive we covered this one and the implications for the football tree.
Now the ESL is back in the headlines with a video that's well worth a watch.

Bye then is my reply today it's a change from when we last discussed this. Today the tree has evolved with iFollow and other ideas the shape, financial structures and ways clubs are run has changed. I believe the 4 league format can survive the answers to how may be in the history books with part time and North South leagues but it is possible for the league structure to be able to carry on.
Just be careful you don't end up on one of the chartered breakaway clubs planes when you finally get to book a holiday abroad.
Stuff them.

Personally, I find it disgusting. It's greed that is fuelling this breakaway, nothing else. I want every possible barrier to be erected to stop this planned action by the owners of these clubs.

It would seem that the clubs' supporters associations that are involved in the breakaway are not happy and are condemning the action. No club that breaks away should be allowed to continue playing in National leagues. No player who belongs to one of these clubs should be allowed to play for their country and as it has been muted, the clubs involved should not be allowed to play in the World Cup or the European cup games.

I see that the ESL is going to go to court to see if they can overturn any such dismissal from those competitions. probably on fair competition grounds. My question would be, what is fair in setting up a league where there is no relegation or promotion It is, without doubt, a closed shop. These owners want it every which way in their favour.

They say that it will benefit all tiers of football. That is a bold statement that in my opinion doesn't hold water. They can say anything they like, implement anything they like to get it over the line, and later rip up the rules, just as they are trying to do now.

I sincerely hope that the footballing world finds a way to stop these greedy owners, who have only their own interest at heart, from ruining the worlds most popular game, that at the end of the day, belongs to the fans.

Jose is on the dole again.

As for the ESL shut and bolt the door behind them best tape up the letter box as well you know their plan B will be another money grab don't you.

Is this it five days to save the season
Its in our own hands to get the job done none of this needing others to help us out and play off knockouts.
Get it done

posted on 20/4/21

It's not going to be easy and that's for sure. If we get the win tonight, we are at Morecambe on Saturday facing a team that has knocked in four goals in a game more than once recently. As we all know, we do well if we score two goals in a match. I fear for us on Saturday and we really do need to win the next two games to give us a chance of returning to league one by the automatic promotion route.

Hopefully, we will win tonight and if we can win in any way possible on Saturday, I will feel a great sense of relief.

I'm not biting my nails, but for the first time in a while, I am nervous.
