Looks like Chelsea and Man City are pulling out.

City have withdrawn, Chelse will follow shortly
Abramavic ad mansoor always seemed keen and appreciative of English football whereas the 3 yanks only appreciate the mighty dollar.
Wonderfully written statement Wolves.
As gem, proud of my club.

The club posted the 1954 Honved highlights earlier too along with the comment ...
For the first time ever, champions of their countries earn the right to face off in exciting European competition.
Doesn't sound like a bad idea?
π₯βͺ https://t.co/pJB7VaGedu
Really soft penalty to get us back in to it though
Laughable the way these clubs are backing down now one by one, just as Gary Neville predicted on Sunday, bottle jobs the lot of em.
Shame I was just starting to get on board with the concept
Great news that the super league is dead. Who knows whether Wolves will ever get to the champions league or even replicate Leicester and win the Premier League, but it’s vital for all clubs that getting to the top is a possibility. And do that by beating the big clubs, not by taking the big clubs out of the game
No surprise that they are backing down for now. Feeling out the water but now they have to figure out how to change the Champions League. All this wouldn't affect Domestic leagues in the end if done right.
Staying in hotel room #306 tonight, that has to be a good omen surely
This past week has been an eye opener for all those far away football supporters that thought a ESL was inevitable someday. You need to live in these communities and feel the emotions on Match Day to really understand the tribal nature of football in this country.
You can’t buy off a century and half of history and culture with a fist full of dollars. It’s true that money can’t buy everything. So, hands off our Beautiful Game Uncle Sam! πΊπΈ
The opposition to a European league is overwhelming from fans and from those inside the game. Only Real and Barca will be pushing for such a league now. As it’s absolutely clear now that teams could only go in that direction if they give up their domestic league, it just ain’t going to happen
Unless they are punished, it will only be a matter of time until they try something again. We saw project big picture attempts earlier in the season and as soon as that faded into the background, we have had this.
All these clubs had signed contracts for the Super League. They had all the investment lined up. The damage has already been done. If people think this is over and allow it be forgotten, then they are just allowing them to plot their next power grab.

Now that the prospects of a super league can be forgotten it’s a shame that fans aren’t in the grounds to welcome the 6 clubs to their grounds. They would surely get a rousing reception

the 6 clubs should get a severe punishment but the history of cowardice of the fa and premier league concerning these top clubs suggest differently.
not how it is in germany. the german fa have a limit on club debt which dortmund exceeded, dortmund are the best supported club in germany - no matter , the dfb said that unless that money was paid by a certain date dortmund would be expelled from the bundesliga. dortmund found the money with 2 hours left , if they hadn't they would have been kicked out.
about time we realised who our real enemies are - not the eu but american business, and acted against them, whether it be amazon, facebook, diplomats able to kill our citizens and not face justice or sports conglomerates.

Agreed. Feckin Germans with their Gestapo limit on club debt and bully boy tactics to extort money from clubs.
I think a years ban fro European football, a 23 point deduction next season (one for every year of the contract they signed) and a wiping of their coefficients rating so they don't benefit from the new Champions League rule should suffice. Maybe throw a fine in there too.
Let them learn a lesson about sporting merit. It would give them the possibility of two years out of Europe and a possible relegation battle for some of them next season.
Obviously nothing will happen though. It will all be passed off as water under the bridge until the next time they do something like this.
morning gentlemen
yea its a temporary reprieve not over by a long way, there has to be fines/punishment for the "big-six" regardless. I don't much care for the "apologies" from their chairmen they signed a contract so they had every intention of fecking us off and making sure they were secure financially for life.
now they wanna play again and be treated like hero's for sticking with us, we should be able to vote to boot them out

I cant really see any punishment being given out, the clubs havent actually breached any rules (other than moral ones) as far as Im aware. They backed a new project, they never resigned from the PL, FA or UEFA, the tactic was probably to offer millions to all as "consolidation payments" and wait to be expelled from the competitions in which case they they could then keep the consolidation cash for them selves.
It would have been interesting to see how it would have worked had it gone ahead, a rival competition completely outside of the jurisdiction of UEFA and FIFA. It is unusual for a global sport, especially a team sport, to have different global lines of governance. The ESL outside of UEFA & FIFA influence could have been free to tinker with all sorts of rules and laws of the game. The only close comparison I can think of is American football where for example the CFL has subtly different rules to the NFL, 12 a side, bigger pitch for example. Hopefully we'll never get to know what their plans were.
