I can tell you now, the prem will survive longer than the six who jog on, cos a closed league that's hated by fans will not survive long after the novelty has worn off, so it's bye bye to these six clubs when it fails and they have to disband

I think the clubs probably realise that they can’t cut ties with domestic football.

The leagues just have to step in and say no, and that’ll be that.

but why would the FA given the profit sharing pyramid?

ruining the PL will severely harm the FA
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’re making the assumption that it’d ruin the PL.

If the fans abandon the ESL clubs, it might not do any damage to the PL medium term.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

medium term maybe. the FA is in dire straits now, if they just boot those 6 out, there will be serious immediate repercussions and post covid this was the best time for the big 6 to make this move, they know they've got both of these organizations bent over a barrel.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Boot those 6 out of the PL for any extended period, and the game in this country changes completely.
Many of those who paid huge sums for TV rights would be wanting compensation, as contracts will probably be voided.
So the teams that remain, won't have anything like the money they have now, and in many cases would struggle to pay their players wages.
If those 6 were permanently expelled, it would be financially catastrophic for those left in the PL.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's ridiculous, these clubs could have been relegated, so would the broadcasters want refunds then?? The game is bigger than 6 clubs, it will survive long after they have foooked off, the fans of those clubs in their majority will walk away from these clubs also
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You really think that any broadcaster, who paid hundreds of millions of pounds for the rights to show English PL games, would just accept that after 1 year of say a 3 year contract, they are now only able to have access to Everton v Villa, or Leicester v Southampton. 🙂

Of course the league would survive, but it wouldn't look anything like it currently does.

I can see football going the way of porrn eventually. It used to be all glamour, fancy productions and fake tiiiits. Now people prefer amateur, genuine real life stuff instead. At the end of the day, both porrn and football are there to serve our basic human instincts.

I will.

Here I am agreeing with you Boris but also realising what I have been saying about your owner for 12 years is why we are even here.

This could all be an idle threat for Uefa to actually do something about state ran clubs.

There must have been a deal struck with a media company that excludes Neville.

Utter tripe and you know it. Your owner has upset the apple cart and the big clubs have had enough.

I don't think it's even being discussed but for your owner buying City.

United and Liverpool would be dead against it. We'd be on 24 titles, Liverpool would be on 22/23.

State ran oil clubs are the reason this is potentially going to happen.

say ManU join this league, they would not be allowed to call themselves ManU surely or Liverpool or Arsenal, as there is already teams with these names in the English league.

Said it on another thread, if this happens, I don’t think I’ll be able to support the club.

As Neville said, decisions being made by people who have no understanding of what football means tk its fans.

They don't call themselves ManU anyway.

I took a look at the revenues of the prem and uefa

The prem made 5mil just in revenue in 2019 and uefa less.

I recokn these clubs see an opportunity to run two leagues side by side with a far more "attractive" super league bringing in at least another 5million annually all for them.

I reckonw they would want the prem cut to 8 clubs to stay in as well. No league cup and a severely curtailed FA cup (for them) (say the 6 want to enter at 5th round level lol)

Good idea. 20 years until they are common place.

Or just wait to see when we can sell our TV rights cutting out SKY and BT and all you bottom feeder clubs and see how you like it then. If you can take the pee then so can we.

Personally I hope we stay in the PL but I honestly think unless City are actually unable to spend money that has nothing to do with their club then this isn't going away.

This is about making more money for sure but it's also about taking back the control from the oil clubs too.

We could clear our debt in a few seasons with our own TV rights. 😂😂😂

posted on 18/4/21

how is that a threat to City tho?

their owners will create their own TV Channel and buy the rights for 1bn pounds a season.

You like that one don't you.

Do you honestly think the other clubs would let you televise games from their stadiums if they didn't get an equal share.

Welcome to MUTV where you can watch all 19 of United's home games and nothing else.
