TV companies won't want broadcast rights for leagues without the biggest and best supported clubs.
The remaining Prem, La Liga, Serie A clubs won't want a TV deal negotiated without the likes of United, Liverpool, Real, Barca or Juve
Sponsors won't want the best supported clubs not involved.
Nobody but UEFA would be losing out if the invited clubs replaced Champs League with Super League

None of FIFA, UEFA or the FA are about to ban the worlds best players from competing in their competitions.
Messi, Ronaldo, Kane, KDB, Salah, Bruno, VVD, plus those that might move to super league clubs within the next few years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Again, you don't know this, you're assuming,
The superleague clubs don't 'own' the players; they have contracts that could quite likely be declared null and void.
The clubs pay the players their wages and own their transfer rights, which would be automatically rescinded if the clubs broke away.
As DD and others have said, it looks like two sides calling each other's bluff. We'll see who blinks first.

Depending on the money, possibly the other domestic clubs took have an issue. If it puts the founding clubs into a sky high league of their own financially, then they could argue it just isn't possible to compete. I think there's an element to that already and a fairly strong one at that, but it could still be seen as the door now being firmly shut, as opposed to slightly ajar.
This seems the biggest issue, for me, so far at least. I wouldn't want a league with 6 Man City's and 14 other clubs. They may need investment to do it but those levels aren't currently so ridiculous that it rules clubs like Wolves out.

Would they not still have the Champions League? Could it potentially help some clubs cement some European history? It may end up being seen as a tier below but if you ask fans of teams who play in the Europa League, I'm sure they have had a lot of memories and enjoyment from the competition that they wouldn't have if it didn't exist at all.
If I try to think of the best reasons for how this could turn out just fine, I'd factor in that it could mean that fans of teams like Everton, Leicester, Wolves, even Southampton, West Ham, are now able to qualify for whatever the champions league or europa league would be, could even remain the same. That competition would probably see a much bigger change over of teams each year, as the clubs that now qualify for eufa's competition(s) are more at risk of position changes being quite erratic each season.
So there's 3 different non domestic competitions. Super League, Champions League, Europa League. The latter two might not be as prestigious as they once were but it is still a European Cup competition for teams to enjoy. Teams who have never featured in one in their history.
It's easy to sneer at now but I'm sure fans of plenty of clubs would enjoy a European night against a Valencia or Roma.
Or would the other competitions just be cancelled?
It's never going to happen. This is a ploy to get more moula for the bigger clubs out of the huge TV deals.
I don't think the PL will break up.
Format:
15 founding clubs + 5 teams qualifying each season based on achievements in prior season
Midweek fixtures
Starting in August teams are sorted into two groups of ten where they each play home and away. Top 3 from each group are guaranteed in the quarter finals with the 4th and 5th placed team playing a 2 legged tie where the winner also enters the quarter finals

Looks pretty set to happen, I believe there's just been a press release.
Competition format
• 20 participating clubs with 15 Founding Clubs and a qualifying mechanism for a further five teams to qualify annually based on achievements in the prior season.
• Midweek fixtures with all participating clubs continuing to compete in their respective national leagues, preserving the traditional domestic match calendar which remains at the heart of the club game.
• An August start with clubs participating in two groups of 10, playing home and away fixtures, with the top three in each group automatically qualifying for the quarter finals. Teams finishing fourth and fifth will then compete in a two-legged play-off for the remaining quarter-final positions. A two-leg knockout format will be used to reach the final at the end of May, which will be staged as a single fixture at a neutral venue.

i hope cl n el do continue without these teams.
but there plan was too have this new 'competition' replace regular midweek european competitions (CL n EL)
There is no need for the angst and vitriol. A 'European super league' - or whatever it'll be nomenclatured - has long been an inevitability. And a welcome one.
There will always be naysayers, just as there was when the original FA and Football League were started in the 19th century, and just as there were when the World Cup, European Cup, EPL and 'Champions League' were postulated.
Each national league is really only of interest to the fans of a few clubs - particularly in the more boring ones. But if a 12 club euro-league, with real incentives for achievements and position, were formed it would soon attract far more support than it, superficially, does at the moment.
