Wish the government just stepped in and took these clubs away from these parasite owners and back to the fans
The PL will be bankrupt without those 6 clubs.
Honestly, I believe that the punishments should be monetary, or that the owners that signed up to this stuff should be forced to sell.
Given that the players and managers were obviously not aware of this, it seems particularly harsh to dock points, and remove them from competitions, particularly because that is unlikely to feel like much of a punishment to the owners, but more to the players and the fans. That said, if that is what is decided, and it's what's necessary to stop something like this from happening again, absolutely.
If the league had gone ahead, then I think that the sanctions should have been significant - included things such as massive points deductions, and cup expulsions etc.
Jury is always needed.
You can't just say, well I think you are guilty, therefore you are.
Yes these teams have probably done enough to fit the criteria of bring the game into disrepute, but you can't just say they have and leave it at that.
UEFA to ban them from being in the Champions League for two seasons
Host Associations and Leagues to deliver 20 points deductions
Financially - lose half their PL payments this year
Transfers - none for two seasons
People talk about "not punishing the fans" but every single punishment could be seen as against the fans. The only punishment is about performance and position, and that affects fans, but it's the way it has ot be.
This is about the club.
In exactly the same way that a club stretching itself financially and then entering administration gets a further punishment of -10 points, this was about these clubs flicking the Vs at the world of football.
I previously wrote Chelsea should be allowed back in and forgiven. I've changed my mind. These discussions and plans have been ongoing for a long long time and became advanced over time.
Punishment must be swift and severe.
City and Chelsea have apologised to their fans and have come to their senses.
That's good enough for me, they have never brought the PL into disrepute.
It's the other clubs you need to worry about, they'll still try to find a way to suck all the money out of the league.

I think you’ll find that Arsenal were the ONLY club to apologise.
Nah, punishment should be severe for all.
Clubs get punished and fans are always innocent, but it’s tough.
Dock 20 points each.
Financial penalty of 50% of their tv money
Banned from Europe for 2 years
Transfer embargo for next two seasons
Teach the fookers a lesson
It was not that long ago we got a 15 point deduction for going into administration. This far outweighs our transgression. They should all face a points deduction, with a minimum of 20 points off the sucm because they are sucm.

Owners are responsible for the mess and should pay the price.
Let’s not be hasty now , all’s good game on 👍
“The Premier League and the FA are adamant that rather than punish the clubs who entered the Super League, stern action should be taken against the INDIVIDUAL OWNERS who led them to the breakaway league.”

Not sure I can disagree with this.
If Radrizzani had done this to Leeds, we’d feel it unfair if our club got punished, but we’d support punishment aimed at him.
Owners have to pass a “fit & proper” test prior to ownership.
At the very least the football powers need to add a stipulation that owners can be forced to sell their club if they bring the game into disrepute. Penalties (point deductions, no European competition, financial to be applied until they do.
Maybe they already have such rules that the clubs signed up to?

The only lesson that will teach is they were wrong to pull out of the super league.
UEFA and the PL will be bowing further down to these clubs, not punishing them.
Hope they dont get a points deduction we might end up in europe

I suspect that these 12 clubs are more likely to be rewarded for the creation of the super league rather than punished.
And that will be a disgrace. But that will be UEFA & The Premier League looking after their own income ahead of the fans. And if they do that then they are no better than the American owners
UEFA's Ceferin was very lame last night when the English clubs withdrew. He's too worried about his equally self-serving "reforms" to the CL.
Johnson has already stated, predictably, that he'd rather the football authorities sorted this out than dropping any "legislative bomb" (which would probably have been defused in court by expensive lawyers acting for the clubs in any case).
Haven't read much about the PL, who will want to avoid clipping the wings of any of their high-profile golden-egg layers. The FA? Who really gives a toss about anything they say?
And the reforms that would be required to sort out the fundamental inequalities of "the football pyramid" will require a major shake-up which could send a lot of the other heavily-indebted clubs into meltdown.
No real action will be taken - the whole circus is just too lucrative for those in positions of power. The most the so-called Big Six will face will be financial penalties, which they can easily pay. Maybe a few heads will roll, like Woodworm's - but he was planning to go anyway. JP Morgan have other bigger fish to fry.
So let's not hold our collective breath. The can will be kicked down the road.
I'm amazed the English clubs rolled over so quickly - reckon this was just an opportunistic power grab during the global pandemic. Clearly, 300mill is only chicken feed to Abramovich and Mansour.

Spot on Jaz
With regards to £300m, I don't think that was the golden carrot for them. I think it was the elimination of failure. It meant that they could make awful appointments, sign the wrong players, save money on wages, and none of it would matter because they couldn't lose their income. That's worth more than the potential for increased income.
I would suggest that they all start the next 3 seasons on -15 points. Let them prove how 'Super' they are. If they qualify for Europe and win the PL despite deductions, then fair play to them.
