The two priorities in the summer are a LB & an 8.
Neither Dallas or Alioski will be in the first choice 11 next season. Alisoki almost certain to leave because of this. I think that's the right call.
Alioski often gets singled out for his defensive ability on here, but that's not the problem. It's his ability on the ball. Think people don't see it because he has played on the wing before.
Dallas also not good enough on the ball to play as an 8 in our ideal system so expect him to be relegated to the bench. Could be wrong because obviously he has done a brilliant job and I would probably have him as our player of the season. I doubt Bielsa will be happy with our reduced creativity since moving him into the middle though.
Rodrigo is the elephant in the room with all of this. So many unanswered questions, which may or may not be his responsibility. But first was he signed as an 8/10 or a 9? Has he struggled to adapt to a role he wasn't intending to play? How much have injuries impacted his form. Will the injuries continue? Depending on all of this do we cut our losses and find a Spanish club who needs a 9, or does Bielsa see enough in training to answer all the doubts. If so does Bielsa see his best position up top or in midfield.
If Rodrigo is seen more as a 9, or simply not the solution as a 10 then I wouldn't be surprised to see us sign two midfielders. One more attacking and the other more defensive who could also cover Phillips and be replaced by Klich.
If Rodrigo will continue as first choice 10 then I would not be surprised to see stronger competition to Bamford brought in.
Talk of a right footed winger which makes sense to offer a different solution, would think that we need to offload Costa first though and I am happy for Poveda to stay around the squad.
I expect the club to have a decent budget again this season. Last seasons transfer fees were structured so that the majority of the fee was towards the end of the contract in instalments. This means cash flow should still be good. Obviously this will catch up with us if we can do that again this summer but would easily be serviceable. We would just need to ensure revenues increase to make any further signings.
We'll be spending 20 mil to get a better midfielder than Dallas. Think he's better than Klich right now. Left back, 8 and maybe swap a few players out like Costa, Roberts Pablo and sign better versions. Would loan out Poveda, Greenwood, Geldhart and Drameh to the championship for game time.
Exciting summer ahead

Don't really see the need to swap out Costa and Roberts, personally, as they are adequate squad players, and to do so would just bite into transfer funds for this and subsequent windows.
This is the second thread where people have commented such statements without actually offering a reasonable approach to selling Costa/replacing him in a way that makes financial sense.
Costa doesn’t need to go. If we happen to find a better alternative at a reasonable price and a buyer for Costa then yes fine.
But no where near a priority.
think we have to bring in three players. while i don't want to ship anyone out, if i had to choose one it would be rodrigo. alioski has been far more valuable to the team than him and while i think we have to upgrade lb i would hope he stays. backup goalkeeper and de paul and we're set.
i don't think it will be that easy to find players that can fit bielsaball. there are plenty of teams in the pl that while being higher placed than leeds most of their players couldn't cut it.

yeah neither would i. i think we could go into next season with this team and finish higher than we are.
i wouldn't want to try it though.
I actually think we would be fine with 2 signings. (On top of Harrison)
An 8 & a LB.
That will already mean leaving out;
Klich, Dallas, Costa, Poveda, Koch, Struijk, Forshaw, Roberts
It really isn't the end of the world.
I suspect we will be looking at a right footed winger like the OP mentions, and a further midfielder, but neither will be vital and should only be made if the right players is available at the right price.
We keep getting linked with Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez. Uruguayan who's said to be having another good season. Radz knows the owner well (friends).
Reports (could be BS), say MB likes and rates him.
Agree, 2 to 3 players tops. We have a really solid squad.
Roberts has just turned 22, playing every week and improving every week.
Yet there are loads of fans, who just want him not in the side but want him to leave.
It’s so bizarre, it really is
I dont think you can judge Rodrigo much hes rarely played!
Lb a priority. We could do with another striker option as we only have Bamford really who we know we can trust up front.
Rodrigo has not done enough to justify his price tag so we would make a whopping loss on him, that is if anyone wanted to buy him. I think we will have to persevere with him and hope he can shake off the constantly injured tag.

Is Roberts better at number 10 than say Buendia, Gallagher, Pereira? Roberts is talented, but doesn't really fit our formation. He ain't a CM either, any new number 8 replaces him straight away. So is he just a back up to Bamford?

Well Gallagher isn't a 10, he's a deeper midfielder, just for a start, and Buendia would cost 40 million. More to the point, what is served in comparing him to players we don't have who are all first choice options for their teams, when Roberts is, realistically, our second choice, at best. A more fitting parallel, based on the clubs you chose, is this.
Is Roberts better at number 10 than say Kieran Dowell, Jake Livermore, Kyle Edwards? To which the answer is a resounding yes.
Have to admit, I'm a huge fan of Tyler. Lad's got some sweet feet. And positionally he gets better and better.
He reads a game well too. Not that my opinion matters.
Marcelo believes in him. He must. He plays him.
Roberts has some flaws in his game that need to improve.
But it’s so obvious he has some qualities that are very hard to find.
There’s so much potential there and some people seem so desperate for him to fail.
If we have t scored by half time Roberts and Costa get the blame regardless.
On Sunday it was the same despite the fact it was obvious it was Harrison having the shocker. Which is fine btw. Some games players will have an off day.

Sorry Shaun but Gelhardt has played half a season already at Championship level, what is he going to learn that he doesn't show week in/week out. He is ready now and shows week in week out, when more senior pros get minutes under their belt that he is better than them, Costa and Roberts come to mind. We need to start bringing him on for minutes as the end of season approaches to show what a talent he is.
Another option recently linked is Nicolas Tagliafico, who is a much more established option, having played a part in some strong European seasons for Ajax in recent years. He would be a top signing, with a price estimated at around 17 million.

Missed this in the OP article. Went and looked him up. Sure enough, strongly linked. Highly rated. Ajax again.
If he's as good as the articles out there say, hell yes.
