I’d take Rafa Benitez at Spurs

Apparently he’s “open to talks”

I see supporters are turning from Mourinho to Levy now with their hate agenda. Our fans are something else.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And I see that you are turning to the fans for why Jose was dismissed, rather than the person that actually dismissed him or Jose himself. You're something else.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not mate I support the club. I don`t make it personal. Managers come and go, but they get my full backing for at least three seasons, as I did with Pochettino, only when the results starting going downhill after five seasons did I say he had to go. I don`t turn on them from day one, like lots on this forum.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But if you don't agree with the decision to get rid of Jose then you have to lay blame at Levy's door. He hired him and then subsequently sacked him 6 days before a cup final (what he was brought here to win). The fans didn't do that.

Do you not see that it comes across as ridiculous that you are siding with Levy but having a go at the fans?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm having a go at the fans, because lots jumped on Jose before a ball had been kicked with him as manager. Pretty shameful and embarrassing really.

This is spot on. Levy sacked Poch after the first time in 5 years of being in the top 4, and within few games of a series of bad results and yet Jose had more bad results and stayed in the job for longer and achieved just a final of Carabao Cup?
Levy is the common denominator and I am sorry but he is causing endless harm to the club now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Who exactly are you going to replace Levy with? You have to come up with some names.

Ralf Rangnick and Rafa Benitez emerge as contenders for Tottenham hotseat with Spurs chief Daniel Levy prioritising experience over youth after snubs from Julian Nagelsmann, Brendan Rodgers and Erik ten Hag
Ralf Rangnick and Rafa Benitez have emerged as candidates for TottenhamSpurs chairman Daniel Levy is searching for a successor to Jose MourinhoJulian Nagelsmann, Brendan Rodgers and Erik ten Hag have all snubbed SpursLevy is understood to be prioritising experience over youthful potentialRalf Rangnick, 62, and Rafa Benitez, 61, are being considered by Tottenham after a succession of managers ruled themselves out of taking over from Jose Mourinho — and the security of experience begins to look more desirable than youthful potential.

Max Allegri, 53, will also be on the shortlist, but the chances of Brighton’s Graham Potter, 45, and Eddie Howe, 43, are receding because of their inexperience at a major club.

Chairman Daniel Levy has seen his initial shortlist fall apart as Julian Nagelsmann, 33, confirmed he would move to Bayern Munich, Erik ten Hag, 51, signed a new contract with Ajax and Brendan Rodgers, 48, indicated he would stay at Leicester.

Tottenham are unlikely to make a move before the end of the season and may hope that Rodgers can still be persuaded if Leicester fail to make the Champions League next season.

Benitez and Allegri are the most decorated managers in the running, the former having won the Champions League, World Club Cup, the Europa League, UEFA Cup, La Liga twice, the FA Cup, Coppa Italia and the Championship, while the latter won Serie A six times with AC Milan and Juventus and Coppa Italia four times.

Rangnick is better known for his control of clubs such as Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig, helping them both to rise though the German pyramid to higher echelons of the Bundesliga, and his ability to buy low and sell high is envied throughout Europe. His playing style influenced Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and he was at the forefront of the Stuttgart school of attacking German coaches.

Benitez, however, brings instant credibility and security, given his Premier League experience.

‘We’re part of a very, very big club at Tottenham, so have big expectations,’ said midfielder Giovani Lo Celso. ‘Those expectations are that we get into the Champions League.’

But who will take them there?

I hope this is all bollox. It makes Levy look incredibly fickle and like he doesn't know what he really wants, which might not be far from the truth.

First he hires a dinosaur like Mourinho with a good record of trophies. Turns out to be a big time failure and so apparently seeks a youthful manager who can helm a project for attractive football. Now according to this he wants experience again because his targets have turned the other cheek? I know Levy isn't the shrewd chairman he's been touted as but he can't be completely incompetent can he? Maybe he can.

I find experience to be a very overrated trait in football. Where did Jose's experience get us? It can be good in circumstances but it shouldn't be our priority and I don't believe it's what we need right now. If someone like Potter, who fits the bill of what we were after originally, is ignored because we're seeking experience then it's just dumb. I don't want someone with a better CV who has been around the block, like Benitez. It doesn't really excite me and it doesn't guarantee trophies or success at Spurs any more than a less experienced manager on an upward trajectory, either.
