I've not seen a skylark, meadow pipit or lapwing for longer than I care to remember. They used to be really common in the 60's & 70's in the Hartington area.

Lying on my back in the fields behind our house, looking up into the blue skies trying to see the skylarks. Derby County the best in the land. Did these things actually happen?

Well it did snow in early June in 1976 and stopped the Derbys v Lancs game at Buxton. It wasn't a bad summer after that though.

Kind of you all. Just temporarily changed my subscription to read only. Haven't fallen on hard times but realised that modern readers are no longer as interested in weather and crofting matters. Anyway, we're all here at the pointy end
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank goodness Awks are go! Not sure how we’d have coped had we needed to get an emergency flight up!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don`t let us go down on goal diff Rotherham win, fair play to them, but the thought of going down on goal diff makes me steam, anyway got that out of me system
How we all doing? ok, good.
Cheers to y`all and good luck
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s ok, Spart guaranteed us that goal difference never has any relevance in football matters.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not what we wanted to hear, Fin

-----------------------------------

U said very rarely decides final positions and if you check though the historical tables you will see i am absolutely right. I don't think goal difference will count as I don't think Rotherham will win.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It will if Wednesday win in that scenario.

9 possible outcomes, 5 are favourable for Derby and none of them rely on GD. But of the other 4 (2 favourable each for Rotherham and Weds) 3 rely on GD and GD is the only way Weds can survive.

So one third of the scenarios relegate Derby on GD. Let's hope it's not one of them.

Just win and then goal difference doesn't matter.

Which, I'm sure, is what Spart-Derby meant all along.

Anyway, it's a big 6 pointer tomorrow 😉

posted on 7/5/21

As six a pointer as has ever been.

Had the idiot referee at the Forest game not disallowed Joz's perfectly good goal then we would be sitting comfortably. Who was it? Does he go in to the list of evil referees along with Roger Milford, Bobby Madley and Stuart Attwell.

If a team is awarded 6 points then I will donate my savings to charity. Yes a six pointer as has ever been which is never.

You'll be trying to tell us we haven't lost all momentum next, Spart, when the evidence is there for all to see.

Sheff Wednesday are 3 points behind us. If they win they are level on points with us. If we win we are six points ahead. That's a six point difference between those two potential outcomes.

Six-pointer. You know it makes sense. Q.E.D.

posted on 7/5/21

If it were 6 points for the win then if we win would be 9 points ahead of Wednesday.

posted on 7/5/21

There aren't six points for the win, Spart. You only get three if you win, one if you draw, and none at all if you lose.

I wonder why Wetherby White has such an axe to grind? Have we upset him somehow?

I am with Wetherby on this one, hopefully relegation will be the final nail in the coffin of a horrible little club that the FL would be better off without.

Greetings Comrades

Well then .. here we are at the arris end of the season .. hoping against expectation that these players will grow a pair and just get the job done .. let’s hope Rooney gives a masterful speech in the dressing room before the game ... Agincourt , Waterloo, DDay etc etc ... and a semblance of destiny, honour and pride permeates their girded loins .. and like gladiators they put the Owls and this dreadful season to the sword .

Re:Auk references ... I’m all for them Heb and Cat 🤣

Get stuck in Boys .. Up the Rams !

Another Dirty troll.

It seems we ruffled some feathers on 15th May 2019 (and 1st November 1975)?

What about pipping them to the title in 1972 as well.
