They look far from amazing right now. They have 4 or 5 outstanding individuals but there’s plenty of averageness there as well.
Also look like they could be one bad result away from losing the title.
I think it was the right move if he wanted to win the Ballon d'Or, as they're a team capable of going deep in a CL and he'd always be in Messi's shadow at Barcelona. The thing is he's just not been good enough to win it. Was he even ever the best player in the world at any one time when taking Messi and Ronaldo out of the picture?

I’d say there have been times that he could be considered 3rd best. Could make a strong argument now that he is top 3.

I'm sure he was close when he was at Barcelona. Although it was Suarez who had that insane season when he outscored both Messi and Ronaldo.
Correct me if I'm wrong but since he's gone to PSG he hasn't really lived up to what he was supposed to do there. And now I think he'll start being in Mbappe's shadow for as long as Mbappe is there.

Yeah that’s fair
I think he took a reasonable gamble for the sake of his legacy on the game, and his chances of winning ballon d’Or. It hasn’t worked out but still time it could in future. Regardless you can’t take away how excellent he has for Barcelona, being part of what most people would agree the most dangerous front three in football history.
It would have been interesting to see how his legacy would change had he stayed at Barcelona, but I actually don’t think it would be too different.
I thought PSG looked excellent against Bayern in the quarters, and Neymar played very well in that tie.

Not gonna say I saw all of that tie but didn’t Navas have a blinder, Bayern miss numerous chances and got caught on the break?
Also had no Lewandowski.
Absolute waste of his career for me. He will never be remembered as a great.

Agreed unless he wins a World Cup or Champions League. Should have had one last go at Spain or England imo.

I disagree, of course he’ll be remembered as a great. There are many, many players have not won a WC or CL and are remembered as greats. Ibrahimovic, Ballack, Baggio, Totti, Batistuta amongst the biggest legends but there are many more

Depends how you define ‘great’.
He’s comfortably a better player than the likes of Kaka, Figo etc. I’d say he’s better than Rivaldo & Ronaldinho as well but they played in a much stronger Brazil team and managed to win a World Cup.
He could also still win a World Cup (Brazil will be the favourites in Qatar).
He’s already won a lot of titles and scored loads of goals for Brazil and his club sides. He’s actually the only player in history to score in both legs of the QFs, both legs of the SFs and in the Final of the UCL in a single season (2015).
Tbh I thought Neymar would exceed Messi at one point. He just had more to his game imo. But at Barca he would never get the chance.
Unfortunately he took the money route and will not be spoken in the same breath as Messi and Ronaldo

Neymar will always be the one that almost became a great. Protected and pampered since his teens hence his massive stroppy teenager act even into adulthood.
At times amazing to watch with all the tricks in the world but never a player to inspire others or show it when it truely matters. Truely self absorbed.
He'll never be remembered alongside the likes of Rivaldo, Ronaldinho or the incomparable Phenom.
Neymar is overrated, I’ve never rated him.

Neymar is a great player his antics aside Sadly for him, he will always be in the shadow of messi and ronaldo
and ronaldiho is always going to be one of the greatest. He was magical even if he was never as succesful club wise as messi and ronaldo. I am sure most football fans, given the opportunity will pay to watch ronaldinho at his best over cr7/messi.

Ronaldinho is the greatest entertainer of them all. Messi is also one that gets people excited whenever he gets on the ball. Cristiano Ronaldo is very different to both, a great goalscorer but never exactly stamping his authority on most of a game.
Great player but he's missed around half the games in each of his 4 seasons at PSG, so he's not really worth the investment for other clubs.
