Mason picks his mates though
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, he doesn't. He picks senior players who seem to have an influence on him.
Surely Rodon us better than Dier any given day!
I don't see Mason changing a lot between now and the end of the season. Think he'll be afraid of rocking the boat.
Rodon should obviously be starting over Dier but I think you probably need an experienced head alongside him

This.
Alderweireld + Rodon OR Tanganga
Don’t mess with Tobys long balls, we’ve scored a fair few goals due to them

At White Hart Lane he knew exactly what to aim for and nailed them consistently

this should have been the case all season
Is/was Tanganga not being utilised as more of a full back this season?

He's a Mourinho full back in the Ivanovic mould. As in, he's a centre half.

I was just about to say is a CB in a full back position. I can't imagine he offers much going forward.
Ivanovic was pretty good going forward though
Is Tanganga though in comparison? Then again if you wanted an attacking full back you have Doherty but he seems out of favour.
Defence for next season
Foyth - Tanganga - Rodon - Regulion
What does everybody reckon, give youth a chance.

Sorry swap Regulion for Sessignon

I think I might actually cry if dier starts the next game.
Be amazed if Villarreal didn't trigger the option

But as Christopher says they'd be mad to not take up the option.
Think as rubbish as our CBs have been the FBs or rather WBs we have, means we are best learning to play the 3-5-2
It seems as though a few on here always seem to think the grass is always greener, eg players not in the first 11 are better than the ones starting. Sometimes this can be the case but rarely it is.
Toby is our best defender by far and should play every game till the season finale.
Dier unfortunately showed potential when first signed but now believes his own hype.
Sanchez needs selling to a low level French side.
Rodon has showed me anything yet to suggest he will make it in the prem and seems very limited.
Tanganga isn’t an out and out CB. He could play wide in a back 3 or full back but not at a high enough standard.
Foyth could do a job but again, more suited to a back 3.
Davies is awful.
Reggie is a forward thinking full back and not overalls convince defensively (like most modern FB’s)
Doherty is a decent wing back, but we don’t play with wing backs.
Serge is ok, similar to reggie but is prone to a mistake or two. I saw someone slate Serge’s performance against Leeds, that is totally unfair and shows lack of knowledge and understanding of tactics. Both our FB’s struggled due to how the team was set and the personnel used, Bale doesn’t track back these day and neither does Sonny (who seems like he’s on his holidays now), add Dele to that, who didn’t drop in to help the two holding, who were getting overrun and couldn’t help out, leaving of FB’s overloaded
