Absolute garbage performance but we won so Arteta will claim to be a genius.
This win has probably secured any doubts upper management had about him.
So we got a bit of good luck, long overdue,we hit the woodwork twice ,and a lucky goalkeeper against Villereal was bad luck,so its all about getting a bit lucky.
Surprised OP has only learned all this stuff from that game. It’s been obvious for a long time that Leno is average, Elneny is garbage and Auba will struggle against ANY team playing for Arteta as we are incapable of any sort of attacking cohesion whatsoever.
Re Partey, I won’t write him off until he’s given a chance under a real manager
I only just learned that we even had a game tonight.

I haven’t learnt that we have these issues from just that game really, the points were just brutally highlighted for all to see.
Been saying for a while but Auba style of player no longer fits the modern game.
He is invisible when teams sit back and he is invisible when quality teams press
You can't survive as a striker these days by just having pace to your game
If Leno goes Arsenal will be like in a relegation battle. Since Arteta took over he has been incredibly reliant on Leno. If he had someone like Kepa then Arteta would have been sacked months ago with Arsenal in a relegation battle.
Auba isn’t the problem. Arteta tactics are extremely negative. I am surprised Auba has managed to do as well as he has done under Arteta. People don’t realise how crazy Arsenal winning the Fa Cup was last season. I think Arsenal were the first side to win the Fa Cup with so few shots. Nearly every shot on target Arsenal had went in that season.
Only Brighton and Fulham have been more wasteful at finishing than Chelsea.
Leno made some good saves today, one which he just managed to tip onto the bar, thought Elneny played well overall and he got man of the match, although I’d have given that to smith Rowe. But agree he’s a limited player, and wouldn’t be someone who can take us up a level at all. But he did well with what he was asked to do today
It was a good defensive performance overall, but we can’t be playing like that all the time, we need to score and create more, otherwise you’re likely to get picked off most of the time if you sit back all game
wondered why partey chose to leave atletico for Arsenal. I guess now we know.
Honestly, I would not write Arsenal off until we see what happens in summer. There's a lot of good parts, just some that are missing.

When you went to Stamford bridge you only had one more shot on target than we did tonight and only 42% possession 🤷♂️.
That was one of our worst away games this season for creativity and we still had 6 shots 2 on target more than Arsenal did and we were denied a stonewall penalty for handball and funnily enough Arsenal got away with 1 today.

So, point is you didn’t create much. Also when we played you at old Trafford you had 2 shots on target 🤷♂️.
The amount of games Arsenal have 2 shots on target or less is a common theme under Arteta. To be fair to Arteta it seems to work in the big away games. Won away to Man Utd and Chelsea Chelsea with just 2 shots on goal and lucky Leno save.

At the Emirates when you played us you had 3 shots on target. Hardly peak Barcelona are ya
We still had more shots than Arsenal at OT. I think Arsenal expected goals without the penalty at OT was 0.24. It was hilarious when they were calling it an Arteta masterclass when Arsenal barely managed to string 2 passes together all game and our defence had next to nothing to do all game.
Just proving the point that you have hardly gone in to games against the big 6 all out attack.

The ball Leno tipped onto the bar was very poor, he should have put it over the bar but his aerial ability is just shocking.
Elneny was largely bypassed in the midfield and his ball passing/possession was poor - yes he made a good last ditch tackle but he is very much a squad player. If he’s a regular starter for us next season we are stuffed.

Shots on goal mean little, that could be a tame effort into that went into the stands, shots on target count and you’ve had little in the games I just mentioned.
Powerking our expected goals was double Arsenal at the Emirates. We missed like 3 sitters that were like open goals. We got a lot of bottle jobs in our team. We had many 0-0 games this season we had the best chances to win but somehow missed near on sitters while our keeper has pretty much nothing to do.
That is why we need to learn how to win tight games.
We drew at home to Everton and away to Leicester City after missing 3 sitters and we conceded from pretty much every shot on goal.

Man Utd top on shots on target this season despite only having 1 in our last game with our reserve side. Arsenal down in 11th which ain’t surprising as Arsenal are one of the least creative sides in the league.

Nearly every game arsenal miss sitters lol, we’d be a lot further up the table if we had converted in certain games e.g wolves away where we dominated and wolves had two shots and beat us , didn’t see you then feeling sorry for us. Stats wise you had 3 shots on target at the Emirates, you like to play the stats game so I’m throwing it back at you, Utd had two shots at the bridge and drew 0-0 yet you’re on here skating us for playing like that against a team in top form 🤷♂️.
