Player of season 😳

Some good suggestions Dubs. I'm inclined to go for Tielemans. Toss up between Barnes, Justin and Fofana for the young player award. Thomas could well be a contender next season.

can spell Iheanacho and schmeichel but cant spell evans and ndidi

Tielemans for me too. He's played every game, Brendan has described him as his coach on the pitch (or summat like that), he's adapted his game to drop deeper to help Ndidi protect the defence but he still gets forward and makes killer passes, sets up goals and chips in with the odd goal himself.

Young player of the year has got to be James Justin. Barnes got steadily better throughout the season but James started off like a train and got better and better, and he was starting to chip in with a couple of goals and assists before his cruel injury.

So Tilly and Justin for me.

Clearly Tielemans for me, and that's even before the added benefit of it annoying True Blue.

Young player is a difficult one. I suspect it might go to Fofana, but there are some strong contenders there.

He’s a good player who can make a great pass occasionally, nothing special though and certainly no where near POTS, that’s just laughable to be honest.

Drinkwater 2016 or Tilly and Drinkwater wins for me by a mile.

Given the injuries you’ve had, surely it has to be Tielemans? He’s one of the few that has played most of your games, and been the most consistent and influential over the season as a result of that.

Evans

I know he got that terrible injury, but to come in and be so good in a position where he was replacing what was our best performing player at the club before his injury....Justin for young player.

Evans is a good shout but I’ll go against the trend and say Tielemans.

For me if Justin had continued his form it would 100% be him, but he gets YPOTY for sure, even missing the games he has.

Yep, pretty much this.

I think because we are in the thick of it at the minute/because he’s a defender, appreciation for Evans may be more reflective. I think he may be the best all round centre back I’ve seen at Leicester for a long time, possibly in my life time. An absolutely superb player. And if Vardy is deal of the century in terms of a striker, Evans is probably pushing this as a CB for me.

I think the thing that concerns me a little about him is that I worry that he lacks a bit of aggression for the position he plays and can go missing when the pressure is on. Still, a fantastic player and technically, has the potential to be world class

For me when Tielemans goes missing, so do we. But that’s not all his fault in my opinion. He’s never going to be a Neil Lennon character that will fight and battle, he needs the team to operate around him.

He needs players making runs to enable him to leverage his passing range, and he needs the midfield and defence to beat the press and create space for him.

The problem comes when teams target him and press him individually. Man City executed this to perfection. At that point, other players need to step in and step up.

In many ways we’re too reliant on Tielemans so that when teams stop him, they tend to stop us.

To help Tielemans, we need the likes of Vardy, Maddison and Castagne to get back to top form to create more problems in other areas.

Get where you are coming from - but that is a hell of a lot of ‘he needs’ and others need to do for him to be a player of the season. The absolute Top players ‘do’, irrelevant of what others contribute. Has still produced some absolute quality but with the formation we are currently playing in CM, there is more for him to work on

I’ve said before he’s a it lazy, needs all the others to do the work while he takes the plaudits, a typical General

Can not believe no one has said Albrighton.....
Tilley reminds me of Mahrez, not the same quality but just plays when he feels like it.

Out of Marc and Evans for me.Maybe Evan just nudges it. James for the younger one.

Sorely tempted to nominate Tilly - who's undoubtedly been outstanding at times - just to irritate TB (Perez anyone?) - but it's got to be Evans for me. Just think how shaky we've looked when he's been missing.

For the young player, there is certainly a strong case for either Barnes or Justin, but they both have missed significant parts of the season, so my choice is little Wes. At 19 to come in at CB and look so assured he's done fantastically well. Still learning obviously but what a talent.
