None whatsoever. Yes they have provided data to back up their decisions but they are conveniently ignoring the data and decisions from the start of lockdown and all these throw away mottos "Save the NHS" blah blah

Now it's save 27 year old Stevie in Castlemilk

Naw fvck off, Stevie has snorted more scheidt than I've had hot dinners so let me get back to enjoying my life - fvck Stevie

Keep the new powers I have, that’s all it is

It's one of two things-

Fear that by opening up the country we suddenly get overrun with new cases (going against all data and their own advice around vaccinations)

or

Using lockdown as control and punishment

Travellers from the UK to Germany have been banned from Sunday because of the rise in numbers of 'Indian variant' in the UK.

Plus the EU anti U.K. stance. It’s quite amazing how all these other countries that the deluded seem to think have done so much better also have the Indian variant.

48 countries known at last count and they include Australia.

And shock horror we now have a Yorkshire variant

All the things we were told would happen. Cases in very low numbers and deaths averaging 8 a day. And now we get the continual screaming histrionics of all Scots being banned from Bedford, Blackburn and Derwent.

And who is going to police that Nicola?

An absolute joke of a woman.

Never mind.

Son be Autumn and then we can roll out the “seasonal surge” to continue this nonsense. Just 3 months to keep the deluded behind closed doors.

What an amazing job done.

Also note the Spanish going the other way, which may be of interest to the EU haters.

As did Portugal which in turn prompted Spain. Which will be the same with Italy and Greece ensuring they EU open up to the U.K. but place some demand that we reciprocate with their citizens.

Why should we? They are far further behind us in the race to get vaccines into the population and the fact is it’s riskier for us to take them in.

So essentially the U.K. will cave in meaning most of Europe being green listed mid July or we don’t and a number of European countries will just ignore the EU and allow us into theirs.

Meanwhile the media and lockdown crazies back here will wring their hands and self flagellate.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

They have to have a common policy for movement and they’ve twice cancelled making the decision albeit it’s expected in the next week or so.

When it comes to the U.K. they are demanding reciprocal for their citizens and I can envisage the U.K. refusing as they are not at the same level of vaccination and it helps them discourage the vast majority of ours travelling abroad.

It’ll be the usual sabre rattling bun fight.

EU are not as far behind on vaccines as I’d thought. Most countries hovering around 50 doses per 100 versus the UK’s 87.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

They’re percentage rates are high 20’s and nearing 30% but that’s first doses. They’ve a long way to go to get near our figures but admittedly they are at last staring to dramatically improve on what was at best a very sluggish start.

But then there are huge variations in the EU travel zone with eastern countries and particularly France still at very low levels. Germany appear to be leading the way over Spain and Italy. The rest are a good way back.

Mine was from the Times. Shows it almost daily during the week and gives percentages as mentioned above.

Interestingly some have moved into the percentages in the 30’s. Still some way short of us but a few in Europe have higher vaccination rates than Portugal.

Like politics.

Everyone looks for the stats that suit their prejudged views.

Daily, weekly, transmissions, positives etc etc.

One thing's for sure.

If Edinburgh had the Postcode hotspots Glasgow has they'd be Level 2.

Fact.

Maybe Edinburgh itself. But outside areas not so much. I never left tier 3 once it was introduced until this week and I'm not even there. Almost like I'm a cause
