Sorry TB 😂
I’m not limping him in with them in terms of his contribution, intelligence and work rate for the team over the last couple of months. More in that we used to rely on him as the game changer, the man who would force the error, capitalise on the error, create the chance and the score the chance.
That Vardy looks gone now so he’s not been able to drag us over the line on his own.
That was what I meant.
* lumping!
Although Vardy is limping a lot in games it has to be said.
To be honest Mersey, you’re talking like one of those pundits who never watches Leicester or Vardy!
The end to this season's league campaign is nowhere near the disappointment of the last one, that seemed like a capitulation, this one we've just run out of steam at some key points. I didn't expect us to come close to top 4 after the Fulham debacle, but we've done much better than I anticipated, if we fail, it will be just by a fraction.
It's quite remarkable what we've done considering the amount of games the team has had to cope with and the injuries suffered. We've also managed to get more points than last year, and this without the backing of the fans so far.
In the end if we don't make top 4 it's more a reflection of the slight lack of quality back up that the established clubs can rely on, we've had to play some in the team more games than perhaps they should have.
There are some really good portents for the future, Ian, Little Wes, Tilly and Luke Thomas have been great, and there is a glimmer of hope that the old Ricardo may be coming back; Evans, Barnes and Justin may regain fitness and of course there are the old reliables, Kasper, Vards and Albrighton. Also the (not so old) reliable N'didi.
I have to disagree slightly on the Perez front, he's been contributing more towards the end of the season than he was previously so he may yet have a part to play. Madders obviously needs to gain full fitness. Note to TB - there is little chance of moving him on if he's not playing well for us.
Think I agree with Nuneaton on perez
It can't be easy with golden boy maddison
Getting the nod even when he's not playing any better,
Touch of the. Natch syndrome,
The lack of a crowd has probably been an advantage to both of them, I could see the fans not giving them any time,
No way would they watch a player struggling for ssy
3 matches without getting on his back,,

I’m not sure I am TB, or I’m articulating it badly.
I’m just saying Vardy hasn’t been the game changer he once was over the last half of this season. I’m not saying he’s not contributed hugely, just that he can no longer be relied on to dig us out of a hole single handedly.
At one point last season he was pretty much at one chance one goal territory with his conversion stats!!!
He’s now being asked to play a different role and that nullifies him slightly, but also he’s not got that sharpness to punish teams towards the end of games. That’s sad to watch. If you are suggesting he’s at the level he was before his injury and he’s still the same Vardy, then we’re definitely disagreeing and I’m not sure I’m deluded!
Vardy hasn't been right after his injury, I think it's clear now that he was rushed back. He will be 35 next year but I think it will be interesting to see how he is next season with a good rest over the summer before we completely write him off.

I don't write him off, he's had numerous chances, just not taking them at present. Also being played out of position - with great success given what Ian's managed to do while they've been playing together. Big mistake tactically from Brendan last nite not starting with Ian.
Don’t think anyone is writing him off. Just worried that his body is catching up with him.
We all hope a rest over the euros and pre season gets him back to a player that can lead our lead on his own again in a 4-2-3-1...

Do we want him too though unless required, everything through just one ageing player when what a partnership he's created with Ian and you want to go back to the Glory days of winning the League style?
Amazingly enough Leicester City have done it again. In top 4 for most of the season comfortably and then they go into the last game of the season out of it. I wonder if Rodgers gets the sack as for it to happen 2 seasons running when the CL spots were to take will make the owners think they need someone who can take Leicester City to the next level. LVG got sacked for winning the FA Cup and missing out on top 4 by goal difference.
Rodgers might be next to do the same.

With Barnes back and the rumoured transfer targets I think Rodgers wants that as an option yes. He likes to switch between a back 4 and 5. 3-5-2 hasn’t looked convincing to me. Our best performances this season and last were with a 3-4-3 or 4-2–3-1. Bothe require a lone striker.
Not looking back, looking forward!

To even be in the position of a possible top 4 spot going into the final game and an FA Cup win already in the bag considering our injuries, which hardly gets talked about by the way is testament to the job Brendan is doing.
So no, he wont be sacked.
Leicester City dropped 14 points in the league since April. Considering Leicester City have a strong side to bottle it again this much even with a few injuries is insane as virtually the same thing happened last season. Leicester City from 8 league games taken 10 points and I am sure if we had a better schedule and a more realistic chance of the title we would have done better against Leicester City.
It is like dejavu to last season got smashed by a struggling side in Newcastle United just like Bournemouth last season. To draw against 10 men Southampton though looks like the worst result of them all. If you had won that you would be now 3rd.
I think there are question marks hanging over the management after the same scenario happening 2 seasons in a row. Its a mentality issue.
I think its soft saying you are happy that we are in this position after sitting comfortably 3rd for so long, doing a Leicester is about to take on a whole new meaning, thats going to be embarrassing!
I hope Leicester City do qualify though. Maybe all 3 teams can qualify. Chelsea have a tough game still and it is looking like Liverpool got there luck back. Many clearances off the line in recent weeks and there goalkeeper scoring a winner overtime. Chelsea with Tuchel have the beating of Pep Man City so it could be still a win win for all 3 teams.

Winning the FA Cup and Top 5 is Embarrassing
The only common thing between last season and this is squad size and quality but mainly injuries to key players
Last season we didn't come out of the covid shut down with a full squad and all the big teams made use of the squad size
Also look at man utd and Liverpool 3 subs coming on
That would be 1st on the team sheet for any other team,
This year it was the injury to key players
Ricardo vardy then the kids who suddenly stepped up
Barnes, Justin,
And I think bringing players back to get his best team out when not fit cost us points as well,
But of all the games lost west ham and the party boys not playing and the effect on the squad was the key game on the run in,
Newcastle didn't help either,,
We are a 6th to 8th place premier team, who Brendon has got playing above their standard,
We said last summer we need 3 to 4 £25/40 million players not kids to to be able challenge squad wise for the extra games
In Europe and Cup runs,
And then probably 2 top players £50/70 to go for champions league,
But I understand the need for CL
Cash!!
Get in CL get 3rd and go for the Euopa Cup
Is worth about £8/10m
I think the Euopa Cup is worth 10 m if you win,,
In August I'd have taken 6tb or 7th and europa again
Fa cup and europa has got yo be a good season by our standard,
I've noticed already
Man city. Utd, pool,Chelsea have their huge shopping list ready
They don't want West ham, Leicester, arsenal spurs
Getting near them next year
