Bit harsh , it was a very powerful header at close range

I know it was not a clanger, but top class keepers get you out of jail - he doesn't...

The faults you've mentioned about Leno have been discussed so very many times now...

What I'm more interested in addressing your point about Aubameyang and Lacazette.

Firstly, is Lacazette even fit at the moment? I'm guessing no. Secondly, we've invested a huge amount of money into Aubameyang with his latest contract, and Lacazette could very well not even be at the club next season.

In which case it would be madness NOT to have played Auba tonight. Just as it will be if he doesn't start against Brighton on Sunday.

I mean... does this actually even need explaining?

Leno has been your best player 2 seasons in a row. I am shocked a goalkeeper like him is staying at Arsenal. 5 saves in each of the last 2 wins and big saves.

^ Apologies. That was grumpier than intended.

He also made a reflex save to stop Ayew's point-blank header from about 3 feet away later on.

To be fair he was very solid coming for crosses today, he makes the odd mistake but what really let's him down is his distribution.

LOL, there was nothing on the header and it was very close to him, to call that a good save is quite funny - maybe you didn’t see it properly, have a look at the replay.
I would add that the ‘save’ in the last game against Chelsea where he pushed it onto the bar was awful, it was directly above him and he should have been capable of tipping it over.
Overall he’s just average at best…

That’s OK. If Lacazette is definitely leaving it’s OK to not play him (I don’t know if that’s true or not) - but playing Aubameyang up front against a deep lying defence just doesn’t work regardless.

Selling Martinez shows Arteta hasn't a scooby

Auba can play against a deep lying defence. You’d swear each of the last 10 or so seasons that he’s scored 25+ goals that he’s only been up against teams that park the bus

He is struggling badly with Artitler’s rigid, pragmatic, dogshïiiit football. We may aswell sell him in the Summer because he doesn’t look interested anymore.

Well, the truth is Lacazette looks a lot better up there, and Aubameyang prefers the left.

I agree Laca looks better up there but again we should be playing a style that gets the best out of our best players instead of negating them. Auba must really regret signing that contract, even if it was a big money deal

Aubameyang last season scored 5.65 goals more than expected but this season has scored 0.19 less goals than expected so on par for the chances he has had this season. Under Emery he scored 1.55 goals less than expected but still scored 22 goals in the league. This season is the least chances he has had in his whole career in a whole season. Heck under Wenger Aubameyang had an expected goal of 9.17 and scored 10 league goals in 13 appearances so he had nearly as many chances and the same goals as he did that season than compared to Arteta this season. Since Wenger left Arsenal have massively dropped off in chances created to Wenger last season.

This was a year ago but the fact is Arsenal are lucky in this department. They need a better midfield and defence. Strikers are very good. Goalkeeper is very good. Just the midfield and defence is extremely poor.

Stats don’t tell you everything, shots/headers Leno has to save wouldn’t even exist under Martinez because he comes and takes the ball out of the air. Our best defence for many seasons was with Martinez in goal, I know that because I was at the Grove watching it.

Arsenal are 3rd best in goals against but 5th best in expected goals against. They have conceded 4 goals less than expected.
