Levy for you mate. A complete failure of a chairman, yet is lauded because he produces nice Amazon documentaries, NFL deals and a shiny stadium with literally nothing to show for it. His lowballing methods are finally coming to a head.
I don't think he is lauded that much anymore, Don. This is the most I've felt Spurs fans are in agreement about how much he is letting the club down. It only took them a decade to catch up with some of us who already realised it.

I think he’s done a complete s** job if I’m honest with you. The club are no more successful than we were in the 90s. We have a lovely stadium with literally nothing to show for it and our best premier league player of all time on the verge of leaving. 1 league Cup in over 20 years and people want to wax lyrical because he’s put Spurs on the map ? F** off. Give me Roman abramovich any day of the week. Proper chairman.
Levy may be partly to blame, but seriously when you lot going to start smelling the coffee, and realise that 80 per cent of it is down to the players. Totally inept and gutless squad of players.

1 league cup in over 20 years tell you otherwise Sandy. Levy and the board simply don’t invest on the playing field anywhere near enough for a top side. This season a prime example, whilst the attacking signings were exciting on paper, most of us could still see we had big defensive problems yet Levy failed to rectify it. Once again he failed to acquire our Main target Skriniar. He does this far too many times down the years and we end up paying for it. Yes, the defence is dog s*^ you are correct, but it’s up to the chairman to rectify that in the summer. He failed once again.
Can’t seem to publish that as an article so posting it here. Long time lurker, first time poster, but given the way things are at the club at the moment I feel I had to say something.
I have a genuine question for all fans here, but under ENIC what exactly is the identity of our club, what do Spurs stand for, what is the essence of our club both in terms of the football side of things and more broadly in terms of our place in the world and the wider community? I ask this because I genuinely don’t know.
In terms of football, we have no identity or model for the club.since ENIC took over we’ve lurched from a legacy structure with Hoddle and Pleat to the DoF model with Arnesan and Camolli to taking a complete and utter fire fighting gamble with Redknapp, back to DoF, to the Mitchel experiment then lucking out with Poch, then heading all the way to the other end of the spectrum with Mourinho to now once again being back to square one with no discernible plan for the way ahead, philosophy or identity.
In terms of player recruitment people talk about the club running on a buy young sell high model, but even that isn’t completely the case and plenty of transfer business over the years has shown that there actually is no discernible transfer policy except for picking up bargain bucket signings and hoping they do well.
Our youth system isn’t all that great and our scouting is well pretty horrendous to be honest, and all this talk of attacking and free flowing football defining the club sounds a bit fake really after Mourinho has been our last manager.
We don’t spend money which is actually fine, I get that, and I kind of like the sustainability, but then we haven’t implemented any kind of policy or structure to counter balance that. We aren’t an Ajax or a Southampton where we’ve built and invested in one of the best youth academies in the world. We aren’t a Porto or a Shaktar scouring South America for the best local talent and then selling them on for huge profits. We aren’t a Leicester with a clear sense of holistic togetherness across the club and one of the best scouting systems in the world allowing us to consistently unearth brilliant and overlooked gems. We aren’t a Dortmund or an Ateltico, spending vast sums on the world’s best young players, developing them and selling them for huge profits. We aren’t a Sevilla, or a Benfica or even a haphazard the-chaos-is-the-strategy Watford.
Again what exactly is this club about other than being just one notch in the wider investment portfolio of ENIC.
In terms of community or political identity we don’t really have much of that either. The post Super League protests showed we don’t really have much of a revolutionary fan base, we aren’t a socialist club, or a conservative club or really much of anything.
But I guess it’s the football that matters the most and as I’ve already pointed out - I don’t understand where exactly it is we stand as a football club, or ever will do whilst ENIC are in charge, and if I am honest it’s somewhat making me fall out of love with the club.
I know ENIC have their supporters here and that’s fair enough, but I support the club for football, not for balance sheets, or trainings grounds or size of stadiums, and I can handle the bad times if I knew that there was some sort of process at play, or the club was being run with some love and as more than just a business but it isn’t. It’s literally just a bland, corporate PLC, and I am not sure how much I can invest in that anymore.
But if people are happy then fair play to them. Football is about emotions, both the good and the bad, and ultimately deriving some joy, and if people are still finding joy and emotional in Spurs then honestly I envy that, because at the moment all I feel is a love affair that’s turned really sour.
Anyway interested to hear the thoughts of other fans.

Well that`s a silly argument. Every squad of players at whatever club, are assembled by the club as an entity. It is then up to those players to perform. And come on how many of the players purchased over the past three seasons minimum have actually performed. Daniel Levy cannot be held responsible for that. He supplies the ammunition, he doesn`t fire the bullets.

A lot of the players purchased our fanbase drooled over when the come. Not his fault they have not performed. When was the last player that Spurs purchased that really has lived up to expectations? I am struggling to think of any in the past few years.
The Grealish debacle and 2018 transfer window in general was when I started being ENIC out.
Poch worked miracles, and all he wanted was a £25m championship player to help the squad, and Levy tries to be clever lowballing villa all summer until they get new owners and tell him the price is now £40m.
That epitomises Levy, happy to risk not buying anyone in order to save a few pennies. He's penny wise, pound foolish.
ENIC OUT.

Big error there from Levy if you ask me
Great grid Iron stadium though
One constant through 20 years of absolute failure is Daniel levy.
Grealish is just one in a long line of top players we wanted, but ultimately Levy was not prepared to cough up the money for.
We can go back years and find numerous examples of Levy`s stinginess, Eto, Morientes, Moutinho, Grealish, Mane, Fernandes, Dybala, De Ligt, De Jong, Skriniar, Dias etc etc etc, these are just a few examples from the top of my head, there will be numerous others also.
ENIC run the club as a business first and a football club second, they have no desire to win silverware at the expense of profit, the balance sheet is always king, and their history in the transfer market proves it.
Every top player we have had under their tenure eventually wakes up and smells the coffee, and asks to leave. Even many lesser players that they sell on, usually go on to better things and pick up medals.
Levy sells our players a dream, but never actually has any real intention of making it happen.
Any fan who continues to defend these parasites is quite frankly either naive, deluded or just downright stupid.

Levy and the people high up at the club are appointing those in charge or recruiting and scouting players, and also appointing the coaches who are supposed to coach and improve these players.
Hopefully Levy sorts the transfer issues out by bringing in Rangnick, we need a proper DoF to deal with transfers and get the right players.
