Deemed surplus by the majority of fans too. But hey, fans get to forget the past and just comment on current affairs 👍
So you have Trippier winning La Liga. Foyth in the final of the Europa. Eriksen winning Serie A.
Even N’Koudou won the league and cup double with Besiktas this season, just to top it off.

He was facking terrible in his last season and admitted as much. The problem isn't that we sold him, it's that we didn't replace him properly
I think the biggest thing to consider in this is...
Which players that have left the club, regret leaving the club?
By all accounts Trippier was carrying a knock for most of his last season with us, which would explain his poor form. In hindsight it was a mistake selling him, but plenty of us gave him pelters in that last season with us. Amazing how fate works, it turns out we did him a huge favour.

You forgot all the trophies Walker has won.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How could I forget... I just looked it up to remind me of how sh!te we are - 4 Premier Leagues, 4 EFLs, 1 FA Cup and maybe the UCL. No wonder Kane wants to join him.
Lol...half our players have already won their domestic leagues before they came to Spurs. Aurier has 11 trophies.
Trippier was garbage. His last season was atrocious. Even worse than the hapless Aurier.
Selling Walker was the big mistake. Our right backs since him have been awful.

And Modric and Bale
Walker forced his own sale. And it looks like he was right!
Tripper's problem was his inability to win any footrace in a run back. He was fine going forward.
Obviously Simeoni has improved Trippier as a player.
Good luck to Trips, wherever he goes next!
Doherty is a rwb, never an out and out defender. Buying him to play at rb was a stupid decision and I hope he regrets it as much as the Spurs fans do.
Even if we took him back I don't think he would be the same now. Shame as he was my fave player over the last several seasons.
Square pegs and round holes etc. Levy/Jose must have looked at his goal and assists stats and thought for £15m we've got ourselves a bargain.

Champs league stopped us being a selling club. No surprise that now we out of it the media and the players now chatting about biggest games and matches etc.

Eriksen has been on the bench for most of the season and Trips missed 10 weeks for a betting ban so they may have the medals but lets not pretend they have flourished since leaving us.
Those who have mentioned Walker should remember that ironically it was Poch telling him that Trips was going to get more game time at his expense that initiated his move. Although I'm sure doubling his wages helped make his mind up.
Trippier`s form has definitely improved under a better manager. He wasn`t very good at Spurs at all. Although with the current Spurs fullbacks, he would be thought of as world class.

Our many expert Spurs fans wanted Trippier out and were glad when he was sold?

He wasn't having the best of times at Spurs and he even admitted he wasn't performing well. Him being sold was not the issue at the time. The issue was having two right backs who are worse, in his place.

Trips played every game before and after his ban. He played 28 league games for Athletico this season, 90 minutes in every game. He is undoubtedly their first choice RB and they set up a system around him as full back. He’s absolutely flourished, and just won the league!
