Shearer is the king of stating the bleeding obvious.
Context?
It depends if he was discussing the availability in the market of such a commodity. If he is encouraging Chelsea to go all out for Kane, we should be grateful to him.
Well you are considering spunking 90m on Declan Rice when you don't need him

Depends on who we are planning to offload...he's not the highest priority though
Funnily enough, City's top two scorers across all competitions were midfielders.

Because they didn’t play any strikers.

Point being that with the right set up, you don't necessarily need a top striker for the side to score a lot of goals.
Chelsea might not be in that much of a position to splash large on a top striker considering the current financial climate in football and the fact they spent over 200M last summer, most of which was on attacking players.

most of which was financed by the sale of Hazard
Sheriff, not that long ago a lot of your supporters were complaining about the lack of spending in the transfer market. The club's really stepped it up the past few years, but that can't be kept up indefinitely.
You've signed well, but Giroud aside, your attacking midfielders and forwards have very little PL experience. This has very been a bedding in year; I'd completely expect them to do considerably better next season, even if you don't sign a top striker.
I would suggest absolutely nothing at all considering that in our game yesterday Jermaine Jenas says "It is reckless and it is a foul, but it shouldn't be a penalty."
Clearly a fundamental understanding of the rules isn't even required to commentate on BT Sport.
I actually think we are a few players short of being top class. Without stating the most obvious, I think a decent left footed centre back would be nice time for us to cash in on Zouma who's about as elegant as an ice-skating horse on E. I would also like a really decent all round central midfielder.

Yep, no reason Werner can't hit form and insane goal numbers. He scored plenty for his previous team and his movement and Chelseas creativity he gets in plenty of goalscoring chances. Same for Havertz. I don't think Chelsea desperately need a striker. Ofc it could work if they got one but it could also just easily click next without signing one. Ziyech too. And Cho maturing.
Pullisic Havertz Cho Werner Abraham Giroud Ziyech theres plenty of goals there as it is. Like our lot, Chelsea have been far too wasteful this season infront of goal. Doesn't mean theyre not good enough or can't hit high goal scoring figures.
Rudiger and Zouma are huge threats at set pieces too, that Chelsea team should not be struggling for goals or a finisher.
If Chelsea settle next season and it all clicks their squads very big and talented. Not even mentioned mount either.

would agree entirely...but our highest goal scorer is Jorginho on 7...(all pens) this stat won't go away
If Werner could be educated as to where offside is any time soon..we'd be in much better position...but he's missed some howlers too
His finishing has improved of late, just likes to stay goal side!!!
