Martinez 2/1 now

Just shoot me now.

Ace, Levy would not be that stupid to appoint Matinez. He will appoint a manager who will get him some brownie points with the fans.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was stupid enough to hire King Jose, so anything could happen

Poch would be a Hella weird one

I love the guy but it would be too soon..?

If he came back a few years later it maybe a better thing altogether.

Levy reputation would be in complete tatters and rightly so. Didn't back the guy and listen to him and now bringing him back when the Jose experiment was a flop.

I would be ecstatic as the thought of Martinez, Parker etc sends shivers down my spine. But I worry with the same setup we would just be back to square one again and have the same problems.

That's why a DOF is paramount. Levy is an account. So he should stick to the non-footballing side of things which he is excellent at.

The Idea of Ragnick or even Campos is appealing to me.

Rumours of Ten Hag as manager and Ragnick as DOF would actually be welcomed by me.

Surely levy’s pride would get in the way of him hiring Poch back just 18 months after sacking him

Think Poch is on his way to Crystal Palace

Ten Hag extended his contract with Ajax a couple of weeks ago.

That is exactly what we need, any way to get Levy to take a step back from transfer deals but will he

Ah, I see.

That last post was for Ace.

Any idea how much it might cost to get him off Ajax then?

It'll be Potter

Martinez would be hilarious as would Poch

Both losers

Ralf Rangnick not in the running anymore? I thought that would be a good appointment.

Feel like Spurs is a too big of a step up for Potter. Martinez makes some sense. Ten Hag just signed a new deal with Ajax?

Feel free to adjust that statement to...

"Feel like Spurs is a too big of a step up for Pochettino"

...and send it back to 2014. That didn't turn out too bad did it? How does any manager make it without being given a chance somewhere?

Zidane is 33/1

Worth a fiver I reckon

Is Tottenham in a position to gamble on someone like that? Feel like the primary objective now is different from what it was 8 years ago.

Well the non-gamble was Jose, so yes. We've just had one of the most experienced and successful managers of the modern era and he made an absolute pig's ar$e of it all so forgive me if I don't share your desire to go for someone with bags of top level experience.

Potter represents the same kind of promise Poch had 7 years ago. It's a gamble, sure, but it always is. There are never any guarantees when selecting a manager. You could argue it represents a safe bet as the financial outlay for someone like Potter would be smaller than a big European name.

And trust me, we've sunk so far that our objectives now are the same as they were then. In fact, I'm pretty sure we had qualified for the Europa League prior to Poch coming in so if anything we're lower than we were back than.

We had.

We also had better players at the club; Vertonghen, Walker, Rose, Eriksen and Dembele were a strong group that needed better fitness and coaching. They got it from Poch and his team. We also had Harry Kane in the ranks about to burst onto the scene - now we’re about to see him walk.

We also had far less weight of expectation back then than we do now. The work Poch did, taking us to PL and CL runners up and top 4 regulars, combined with us now being in the new ground, has massively raised our status and therefore expectation levels among the media and fans.

Any manager coming in now has a tougher job than Poch did in 2014 I think. More pressure and a weaker group of players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
At least whoever is coming in is following in the footsteps of Mourinho who managed to crumble expectations for many fans.

I think it's a great opportunity for a new manager to come in and be the man responsible for fixing the mess that Jose left.
