No, I know a lot of people who give a lot more than they can. It just doesn't seem like it's helping that much. It's ridiciulous.

No. What you've said is ridiculous.

Tbf people giving more than they can afford is their own personal choice no one is forcing them to

A good example of how much it's helped is South Africa being able to host the world cup. 10 years ago that would have been completely impossible it shows how much their economy has improved

tbh most the money we give to them are paid back to us and other countries because they owe so much to us e.g. debts.

also you can give as much money you want to countries it wont change how they live much cause they are used to it

posted on 17/11/11

shows like x factor go texts cost 50p with 10p going to charity. no it should be 30p going to charity

Vince, you cant really even begin to comment how the money has changed the life in Africa. Maybe you should go out there and do some work with the money from Children in Need and Comic Relief etc and see the difference it makes to the standard of living, wellbeing and safety of the people. Just seeing them happy, believe me you'd realise then
===========================
Look, generally for me it hasn't made a massive difference but yes it has made a difference (in terms of poverty changing) . it has helped yes. for me, i'd rather donate to marie curie, help for heroes. as they mean a lot to me

1. vince they have debts to pay off thats where most of it goes.
2. have you been to africa and seen the difference. you probably watch it every year and you see the poor areas the celebs go to thinking nothing has happened. they dont show you the areas that have been helped that much

Wilshere still Hammi and DC

Without independence they were exploiting the people and we basically left them in ruin. If we wipe out all their debts though our economy will suffer massively so that wouldn't help at all

Best just to a bit at a time for comic relief ect as jet says it makes a huge difference

posted on 17/11/11

but lstd we are paying their debts anyway

If you look though you can see the difference. South Affica hosting the world cup, no real major famines anymore, before there were massive famines in Ethiopia and Kenya that's very uncommon now

posted on 17/11/11

still huge racial crime in SA though.

it will take a long time to remove racism there though tbf

posted on 17/11/11

Yes but racism doesn't really have to do with their economy that's not what the charities are their for. The living standards are much better which is the aim
