When Scolari was sacked half way through the season it was because of the results he got with the players at his dissposal, Ancelotti came in season after and won the double with the same players. Zhirkov, Sturridge, Turnbull were the only new ones.

AVB has an ageing/young squad its two extremes really im sure abromovic realises it will take time. The board does and it was the board who persuaded ambramovic to get rid of wilkins and ancelotti.

3rd wouldnt be bad at all considering its a manager coming in trying to change the style of play completley and change the players.

lampard, drogba, malouda, alex, anelka, even cole(more slowley) fased out and new players brought in like mata, sturridge, romeu ect

there is a lot of work to be done but everyone could see that after ancelottis second season which was dreadful. It takes time and every team goes through that transition. We arent doing too badly tbf, a few bad results some down to bad performances other ref performances. Tonight was a team with probably 1 player who can really be seen as a first choice player and thats Luiz. Lampard, Torres, Romeu only others close atm and they have all been rotated..
