He used a term that is considered racist in this country. I don't believe he is racist at all, and think Liverpool were right to get behind their player.

But I still believe he should have been banned as its not acceptable to use the term he did here. Although not for as long as he was.

Is that actually racist? Black people call each other far worse in this country. Maybe having been brought up in a different country I just have different views on this subject I just think its been taken too far in Britain where you can't even use the term black without it being a racial slur.

As I've said previously, offence is taken not given.

If Evra was offended then it had to be investigated, and it was adjudged to be a offensive term, and thus a punishment was laid.

It's pointless discussing it anyway.

The point is it isn't actually a derogatory term, he should have been warned and maybe a one or 2 game ban to show him he can't use it but 8 games for something that isn't meant to be offensive is very harsh. Evra may take offence but it wasn't offensive and expiation to Evra from Suarez about what it means could have got the whole thing over with and we wouldn't have so much problems with it now

Dont agree JET, Scholes been our most forward thinking and tempo building midfielder so far - playing well for my money.

In South America it wouldn't be offensive, but the fact is that in this country the majority of people who don't know what it means would assume it is racist. And as he is in this country he shouldn't have used the term.

Scholes has done well, but should have scored with his header. United dominating really.
