He said in summer he wouldn't say after this season, or at least he said Barca managers can't stay for more than 4 years which is basically saying I'm going

Think he will take a year out tbh

Bruce to barca

I think it will be AVB

posted on 26/4/12

I thought that but then thought that whould be boring so steve bruce to barca it is lets see how messi likes cb

posted on 26/4/12

Haha maybe

I generally think AVB could get the job he's perfect for Barca, likes to give youth a chance, plays their way of football and been going to virtually every Barca b game recently.

Bielsa at Bilbao another contender

Chelsea are the only team to play Peps Guardiola and never lose to them. 4 games, 3 draws 1 win

Dont think avb has any chance at all.

My favourite would be Luis Enrique probably.

I do he'd be great for Barca imo

Luis Enrique a good shout he was Barca b manager last year

Weren't you saying he also shouldn't be sacked and now you're in the CL final

Could see it in the future, but at the moment don't think he has a shot at all.

posted on 26/4/12

Yeah I know I still don't agree he should be sacked we will just have another awful season eventually, we need a transition sooner rather than later just not sure AVB was the right man to go through the season of phasing the older players out, more putting his own team together. Not sure RDM is that man either unless it's a massive clear out but he's been a great interim and definitly deserves the job, depends what direction we are going though

You don't agree he should have been sacked? You wouldn't have made CL final if he hadn't been.

Clearly didn't need the old players out when they were key to getting to the Champions League final. Transition will obviously happen at some point, but as I said when AVB was fired theres no need to get rid of the older players yet.

No I didnt think he should be sacked, we wouldn't have got to CL final no but we are going to miss out on some great young talent if we don't start a transition this summer and because of getting to the final I don't think we will now.

Say what you want but Drogba is 34/5 and only plays well in the CL which we might not even be in next year
Cole fair enough has been amazing recently and tbf Bertrand has got more chances since AVB left
Lampard is 33 now and is goin to need replacing soon
There's plenty of others too

Just think that next year will be a poor year for us if we don't start changing the team.

Don't see why changing the manager should mean you miss out on talent. Would highly doubt that AVB was totally in charge of transfers, although he would have obviously had input.

Drogba was good against Spurs as well, so maybe just big games. But clearly still got it.

So what if they are that age? They've shown they are clearly still good enough to perform at the top level.

Scholes is 38 or something and been key to United since returning.

Obviously Lampard/Drogba/Cole etc will be replaced at some point and phased out in the near future. I just don't agree you should get rid of them. Like you say Bertrand has had chances and done well, under AVB wasn't given a look in so don't see how firing him will hurt the chances of young players.
