massive win, got a bit fortunate early on, really should have given away a penalty, but killed the game off 2nd half
and that is very harsh on sterling, has he reached the highs he did in the 2nd half of last season, no, but he has been one of the few bright sparks in more than 1 part of the season, when we were struggling without sturridge, he was our most likely option to create something, and when we changed the formation, he performed better in the lone striker role than 3 natural strikers, and also worked well at wing back on a few occasions
sure he makes the wrong decisions at times, but that can also be said of vastly older and more experienced players
Sterling was not playing up front, he was playing as a wing forward where he has for most of the season.
Those stats, also, don't tell the whole story. A completed dribble could involve a poorly judged shot or a pass back to the keeper. Not a fault of that statistic, admittedly, but it's an example that statistics do not tell a whole story - hence why I won't take any stock in you spouting them.
Finally, if we're talking about fan approval then it's not exactly difficult to find Liverpool fans talking about his poor decision making and need to mature, as well.
In my opinion, he has been extremely disappointing. That may be a by-product of the media attention he got last season but everything that he does, to me, seems to suggest that he needs to get his feet back on the ground and play for the team.
Until he starts doing that, I'm going to keep saying that he's playing sheite.
and that is very harsh on sterling
====
Yes, it may be harsh on him simply because he played well last season but if he wants to demand ludicrous wages then I think he should play well enough to warrant it.
compared to the rest of the squad, he was playing well enough to earn it, without him in the team in the first half of the season, we would be in a much worse position than we were even then
Everton 2-2 Liverpool
Scorers: Criscito, Hernandez, Verratti, Griezmann
Assists: Sakho, Inler, Costa, Lamela
MOTM: Inler
Sterling was up front for the majority of the game................
Another stat is that only 11 players have made more key passes per game in the PL, in terms of total he's a lot higher in the list.
Stats and fan opinion on his performance clearly show that it's a ridiculous statement.
Personally wouldn't say any single Liverpool player was playing well at the start of the season. There was a lot of flattering to deceive and huffing and puffing without any end product.
Sterling is no Lord Bendtner

Do you even have any idea what a "key pass" constitutes? There's a lot of subjectivity to a term like that.
what a ridiculous result wilshere
Sterling was up front for the majority of the game................

He was there because he doesn't track back...if he's moving in to a position where he's not comfortable then that's his own problem but he started out wide and was evidently given the freedom to roam.
Sorry yr tactics were all over the place
Just kidding Everton had one slot that wasn't a home slot

Ska, my argument is clear. All the stats available show the statement is ridiculous. The fan opinion shows the statement is ridiculous.
You've done nothing but disregard all this and say but what you've saw is more reliable. But then you failed to recognise he was up top today...

I haven't done nothing but disregard this, I have given valid reasons why stats should not considered as adequate storytellers and I've also spoken about fan opinion, which you seemed to ignore rather conveniently.
I'd also question whether you actually watched the game or just looked at a team line up if you think that Sterling was up top. He roamed around the pitch but played the majority of it from the left.
Exactly your reasons are your opinion on stats, not valid. If your seriously saying what you've seen is more valid than the fans as a collective that watch every week then that's also ridiculous.
He was up top, that was where he was playing. Where he roamed doesn't change that fact.

What I'm saying is my opinion, whether other people agree with my opinion or not does not make it ridiculous but if you want to purport it as such then that is your, misguided, prerogative.
I'm not sure how many more times I'm going to have to explain what a wing forward is to you, as well. I'll give you a hint - it's not a striker.
It is your opinion, when your opinion differs greatly from the obvious conclusion and evidence, with no evidence to support your own opinion, then that makes it ridiculous.

So where is the evidence to support this "fact"? Did you look at Sky Sport's line up and deduce this information?
I've also given plenty of reasons for my opinion and it's up to you to agree or disagree with them. Argumentum ad populem will not prove your point, either.
Sterling was as much a wide player today as Henry was at Arsenal.
Plenty of reasons, but no evidence. People have claimed the earth to be flat despite the evidence saying otherwise. They have plenty of reasons as well.
I'll ask one more time, since I never got an answer. Did you watch the game or just look at Sky's line.up?
