Right here it is.
Wigan said the idea a while ago but I said I'd develop it and see what people thought. So the idea is to introduce Youth Academies.
So your young players would not take up space in your squad. So the rules would be
A maximum of 18 players. They'd have to be 18 or below from when the season started and they can't have any full international caps. If they get one while they in your academy they have to be promoted/sold and if they are 19 when the season ends they can't stay in the academy.
There could be friendlies throughout the season. The players in the academy wouldn't be able to feature in the League or European cups but could be in the squad for FA Cup and Carling cup.
You can start with 18 from your teams academy ie at Liverpool id be able to start with Flanagan Robinson and add in players like Kalas Puazon that ive bought.
So thoughts?
good idea. you able to come on facebook lstd?
im for it of course...
so when will this start
Depends what everyone else thinks Wigan
I will soon vincent
Yeah ok if it gives u pleasure
Tactics in and done.
Also well chuffed with Republic of Ireland, surely job almost done. A early goal on Tuesday should be it for them. Would be nice having a fellow home nation at the Euro's .
Anyways will check back on Sunday when i have more time to do deals and stuff.
im off too cy guys.
tactics in by 11am tomorrow please!
you only doing this so you can get the players in you are wanting LSTD? you have always been against this?
lol anyway yeah am fine with it
but I do think original players from your club ie Tom Cairney who is over 18 should be allowed in these squads
so for instance:-
Players brought into youth teams must be U-18
Players already in youth team must have a max age of 21
??
Quite honestly, I dont like the idea - I think it defeats point of what you are trying to achieve with the max squad limit, despite there young age.
after thinking about it, whats the point really? And why now have you changed your mind LSTD?
I never said I didn't want it before lol I said I'd have to change the rules that Wigan suggested cause they defeated the inject of small squads. If more people are against it than for it I'm not bothered tbh
And I have room for all the players I want anyway lol
Haha, it just seems to defeat the point and is slightly purposeless to me.
Well, I'm hoping you rate Koke as highly as I do - put him
in my starting XI this week
the players cant play while there in th acadamy so at the begginging of the season you ned to pick the palyers you are putting in there its down to the skill of the manager to put someone who is going to be a star but not someone who you will want to play
The point is it gives you moe room to use your 30 man squad it can let you have more options and all 30 will be able to play and not be stars in the making... it simulates real life because teams pay big money for a star in the making who turns out bad or you could buy the next messi for next to nothing. it again helps the better players on the spotting talent side because if you take over a team who is newley promoted with the teams how they are now its really hard to do anything big at all because you need to try and bring in 30 good players to take on the best in the world in everyone elses squads you dont have room for the next best thing. It levels out the playing field so thats the point
well the wayy I see it is like I said above
Original team memebers like Cairney for instance will still be available despite being over 18
and buying u-18s and putting them into youth squads is fine by me but I would limit it to 5 tbh
Yes Wigan, but with them forcibly moving up to the 30 man squad at the age of 18 - when mostbplayers aren't good enough to be backup/ in the 30 - it makes your point largely redundant imo
I have loads of youngsters that I wanted to sign but couldnt as they wouldnt play as of yet..
But if you were to do it I wouldnt bother with fixtures or anything as you saw how successful the reserves were lol
To me though Fan, your first point would still be true as most won't be ready at the age of 18
i dont understand you point..you hould do tactics because you have good players in your reserves
ill just stick Neymar and Varane in my youth set up then
