He has to be backed fully boys
hopefully he just needed a break away, think he needed longer than this though
still dont see this happening
I'm not entirely sure how to feel about this. I guess I'll be happy if Poch is back cause I do love him, but it comes across a bit desperate. Can we expect anything different from last time seeing as it's so soon after he left?
Imagine the chanting at the 1st home game ? Atmosphere be electric. We need to keep Harry now.
just don't see Levy taking Poch back.
It will be basically him admitting to two appalling mistakes, sacking Poch in the first place and then getting in Jose.
From what we all know about Levy is this likely, him putting up his hands and saying I fuc#ed up?
He would be admitting he cost Spurs millions in the pay of the two managers and not qualifying for the CL this season.
Levy strikes me as an arrogant sort who would never do this.
I'm trying to look at it from Levy's point of view. It would be an admission that he has totally cocked things up going back to the same manager only 18 months later, but at the same time he needs to try and get the fans back on board cause they hate him, and for that reason this appointment would maybe seem like the safest option because Poch is so popular with the fans.
The only way Poch will return is if he is given assurances from Levy re transfers/budgets/retaining key players etc. So, if he does return it will be an extremely positive signal that Levy has seen the errors of his ways and is ready to repent!
This is why I doubt it will happen, but I sincerely hope I'm wrong.
So is it Conte or Poch from here on in? That is an astonishing turnaround if true.
My heart says Poch and to be honest my head says Poch. He's the one that knows what to expect, he'll give us as much time as we want (he won't flirt with bigger clubs anymore) and he won't be a destructive personality. As good as Conte might be, we might get one, possibly two good years out of him before it goes sour. It always has done with him in far less restrictive surroundings than Spurs.
I'm with Phenom though. I just can't see it happening. I don't know what to believe any more. Every day there's a new candidate that's a dead cert. One thing I will say is that if it's not one of those two then anyone coming in will be hugely underwhelming. I mean, I personally liked the idea of Potter coming in but even that now seems really meh, particularly now the old flame is back on the scene.

As much as I agree, I also think that levy knows he is completely losing the fans - with the ESL debacle, Jose, Kane leaving... the fans are close to full scale opposition to the board.
I think Levy may realise that this would be the sort of move that would get the fans back on side which saves him even more headaches!
Then again, Zidane is available

He'd apologise to the entire world if it meant he got a manager back who consistently got us in the top four on a relative shoestring. That's why he'll pull heaven and earth to get it done.

This.
I just can't see levy admitting his mistakes and more so giving poch the tools/backing he'd want.
Get Poch back. Sell Kane. Invest the money into the squad for the first year then leave Poch out to dry every season afterwards.
Levy has done it again!

Agree with Spurtle, but...
...I'm not sure Levy did totally cokc it up. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but you have to remember that:
- Poch's last 6-12 months were pretty dreadful
- When he left, I think we were 14th?
- We hadn't mentally got over the CL final defeat
- Everything was a bit stale and tired
There were valid reasons we we parted ways with Poch. Even a lot of our own fans were calling for it. And love him or hate him, Jose was a proven winner who was available. I'm not saying it was the right thing to do, but Levy took a decision that on paper sort of made sense.
Every decision in football is a risk, just like signing new players - some work out, some don't. This one didn't, so if he repairs the damage and all parties think that this time will be different to the end of the last Poch era, then let's just get it done!
I think poch holds the cards here. Levy will be desperate to appease the fans and Kane. Poch is probably the one man that would unite the fanbase.
However, poch is a big time manager now at a big club. He's not going to walk away from Mbappe, Neymar and a genuine shot at winning the CL for a club looking to balance the books and lose their best player. Levy/ENIC will have to commit financially if they want him.

Zidane? You're not serious?!!!
Maybe I'm doing him a disservice but I think that Madrid ship ran itself. For some reason I just don't see him as a manager, more a public figurehead. Having said that there were clear signs in the CL of tactical approaches, defensive approaches, that had to have been worked at on the training ground. I just think Madrid is a club like no other. Ramos runs the team along with Kroos, Modric and Marcelo.
I've just never been able to take world class players seriously as managers. I always think they've got the job based on their player reputation. I should stop that really because Cruyff was the daddy of them all. Stunning player but he revolutionised management. you wouldn't have Pep without him. I still wouldn't touch Zidane with a bargepole. I think he'll struggle to get work elsewhere, despite his CV. PSG does seem like a good fit though. They love their own.

This, but just getting Pochettino back isn’t enough. Levy has to pull his finger out his a** for once and invest properly in the team. Keep Harry, invest in a squad capable of winning trophies.

I'll freely admit that things were on the slide, no doubt even leading up to the CL final (the run did mask a fall in league form) but we still made it to the top four that year and I don't blame Poch for losing his fight a little. You have to remember he had 5 years of this, with little in the way of backing. We were absolutely on fire when he was talking about a painful rebuild. That's where the roads diverged for me. He wasn't backed. The hierarchy could see he was still getting top four with the squad they had so no rebuild took place. My feeling is that, should this happen, and I still have my doubts whether it will, we'll get the fired up Poch with absolute contractual assurances that money will be there for the rebuild. Otherwise there really is no point.
The rumour going around is that the players have heard about the rumour and they're all excited by it. I have no idea where these stories come from about Kane defo wanting out if it he comes back. He was the first man to call on him after he'd been sacked.
