Selling to generate money is the only hope we have of eve bridging the gap now Fosun have clearly dialed back their intentions. The ten year plan isn't on the table anymore.
I fully expect Fosun to try and sell over the next two or three years.
Hi Wolves
I think you guys are in a similar boat to Leicester and will not doubt try and follow a similar path.
We too have wealthy owners who have put a lot of money into the training ground and academy but have also invested in the squad where possible, without ever challenging the big money spending that the top six clubs can do.
But we have also developed a record of selling on a top player every year for serious profit - Kante, Mahrez, Maguire, Chilwell - circa £230m for four players that cost us £25m in total.
It would be great if we didn't have to sell our stars but I think its a fact of life for clubs like Leicester and Wolves. We are always likely to have to buy low and sell high to be able to survive in the Premier League.
I think you are both right and I feel some trepidation for the future.
Fosun are an investment company and need to show a profit on their outlay.
FFP is a farce and has the opposite effect that it was intended to do. The big six can get anyway with anything as the recent ESL debacle shows.
None of us knows what the future holds we can just keep our fingers crossed and hope for t6he best.
My club will always be my club'
COYW.
I doubt there are many individuals around these days who have the kind of financial clout to make a dent on the top six. I like Leicester's model and let's not forget that they have had to take a few sideways steps in order to progress. Fosun took us from 15th in the championship to the Europa league QFs in four seasons, how many wealthy well intentioned benefactors could achieve that?
As for the future, clearly Fosun see the need for a sound solid business model, they are restricted in their ability to throw cash at the club by FFP and they recognise that it will be a longer game than they possibly anticipated. The concern is whether they have the right man at the helm, I would be a little happier if there was a little more football admin expertise alongside Shi . Scott Sellers brings some knowledge of the game but I'm not sure how much influence he has.

Rubbish!
Could see that job at least getting his attention. Palace would never happen but Everton are on an upward trajectory and have the potential to crack the big six.
Nuno now fav for Palace AND Everton ... agent Mendes must be smoking a big cigar right now 😂

Mendes lining his pockets again. Probably a bidding war.

Sky sports report that Everton in talks with Nuno today
Everton wanted Nuno before. No surprise at all if he goes there and fair play to him if he does, it's a slight step up from us. Would suggest that he was sacked rather than walked though as the assumption is that he wanted to go back to family for a while.
Don't blame him, however not much of a step up.
Everton fans will soon tire of negative tactics and style.
Looking very much like Lage is our man. I'm a bit concerned about his lack of experience but apparently he plays attacking football, but then so did Fulham and Norwich. Let's hope he can keep the back door closed at the same.
Would be painful seeing Nuno at Everton but hopefully we won't miss him. 🤞
