Great news, Olivier has contributions still to make for the team as a player ,also as an experienced positive energy personality in and about the club.

Activated to retain monetary value.
Giroud is leaving the club, after the euros. Right time, served his purpose.
Not of the required standard to work under Tuchel.

Fantastic. Under used by tuchel sadly. Had we utilised him more dare I say we’d have qualified for top 4 a lot easier. Not as if we can criticise TT right now. Hopefully. Get rid of Abraham and bring in a top striker now.

Not good enough and too old. Doesn’t fit in with TT stylr. Hope he’s sold like Luiz to Arsenal

Lazio appointing Sarri could help us offload a couple of players.

He's been a brilliant signing for us. I Think we've only extended it so we get a fee. Would be the perfect time for him to leave after winning the CK.

Wouldn’t the player need to agree to that also? In which case he’d expect a lower signing on fee and wages accordingly.

Assuming we replace Tammy with quality I’d like to see Giroud for one more season if he’s happy with a bit part.

Surprised by some of the unfavourable comments tbh.

I'm a tad surprised actually, thought he might go somewhere else for a last hurrah & get some game time....fine though, but we need to bin off Tammy

"Surprised by some of the unfavourable comments tbh."

Why is it surprising that a player who isn't conducive to way Tuchel wants to set-up/play in terms of mobility, the ability to run the channels, industry in pressing and creating space for others by occupying CB's, should be moved on?

Tammy fits that role like a glove off the bench or starting, but Tuchel has badly treated him.

Giroud has no say in the triggered one-year extension, option to extend clause was a club mandated agreement/contract.
The club rightly or wrongly clearly feels it's in their best interest to get some sort of fee for Giroud.

Because he offers an alternative, a last roll of the dice when chasing a game with 5-10 minutes left and invariably, more speculative long balls are put in the box. We don’t have a better finisher in those type of situations. No one is suggesting he’s a starter, or even a regular.

The times when Giroud has had more than 10 min sub appearances have actually been counterproductive this season. Looked out of place.

Giroud' strengths which are hold up play, being on the end of crosses, winning aerial duels and an impactful sub have waned significantly this season.
Alternative that he offers is no longer present, thus should be moved on.
Can't be having one of the high earners providing miniscule/negligible on the pitch contributions.

Like against Atletico you mean?
Without his efforts him we would have lost the opener. Not had that so important away goal.

Against Atletico...Giroud' performace as one of two starting split striker was nothing to write home about
Once in a blue moon outstanding goal, rescued that performance. Anomaly.

Anomaly on the course to winning the CL.

As City were clear favourites, it might be said our CL victory also anomalous.
Don't wish to credit important contributions on the team's road to success....? Fine by me.
